Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

        it puts fot a lil more light than the stock bulbs just aim your lights down.

        or save up and get a hid kit.

          Depends on the age of the wiring. I had one of my sockets wiring on the Accord go up after about 2 years or so. My Civic hatch had it go up after about a year, and I have seen others go in the 2-3 year time frame.

          One of the problems is that when you trim those tabs, the socket doesn't connect as securely to bulb, which probably causing wiggling and arcing. There was no apparent sign of damage until they just sort of stopped working one day. On my Accord, the wires were getting so hot, they burned through the insulation, and the bulb would shut off. Same on the Civic, except that it was before I owned it, and it actually caught fire. In addition, on the Accord sockets I had to replace, the heat started to destroy the plastic plug itself. Now, this was over several years, but it has been consistent from car to car. I had to replace both headlight sockets, and then just put regular wattage Raybrig bulbs back in and I have been happy with that so far. Those bulbs have also lasted 2-3x the other "HID look" bulbs I have used.

          You have to consider that the 9005, if I remember correctly, is about twice the wattage of the 9006.

          Overtime, it is probably going to destroy your sockets and wiring, so be prepared.

          It should also be noted that mine didn't have corrosion, damage, or any other issues of any kind.

            hmm no kidding. this definatly has me a lot more cautious now or reccomending. next time i pop my hood i'm going to try and do a more careful inspection of my light sockets and wires.. thanks for that information

              I will add that mine were only in there for a year tops... No apparent damage was done, but it wasn't all that long.

                man i am cunfused about wat to do i am scared to do this...i am thinking that i just might go out and buy the best 9006 bulbs that i can get and forget aboout the conversion....

                  Look for a set of Raybrig bulbs. They are not cheap, but they have good output, look like HID's and last a long time. They are quality.

                    I got some blue 90 watt bulbs 9006 i believe... were can i get harness that wont burn out cause I had on for about two months on my old cb the harness burned rather quickly.

                          Better IMO. Had some on my truck, and those were by far the best halogen lights I've ever had. Silverstar Ultra's are great, but don't even compare to Raybrig's.
