ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    HID projector conversion

My winter project this year was to convert my CE1 headlights to HID projectors. I'm about 3/4 of the way through so I thought I would post up what I've done so far. If I was doing the CB9 it would be a similar conversion.

First I separated the lens from the housing.

    Then I started cutting.

When I was done it fit like this.

Time to fire it up and test aim.

Next the shrouds need to be made (Home Depot is your friend).

    ]

I'm using 3" Hella Bi-Xenon projectors from a Porche, with stock temp D2S bulbs. They throw a nice light color and pattern. When the shrouds are painted and mounted I'll add some more pictures.

are you gonna paint the rest of it black, or do a chrome spray?

I was thinking of doing the chrome spray. I have a can so I'll try it and see how it looks. If I don't like it then I may go with black or just silver for the shroud.

The next light project is LED tails for the CE1. I have three LED units from an '06~07 Accord that I'll use to do the conversion.

Those strips would make great under hood or trunk lights. I've seen a project to do the instrument cluster with those strips too. So many projects, so little time (and cash).

VERY well done, and i love what you did with the shrouds!
also, thank you from all other road users for taking the extra step to use projectors, rather than being tacky, dangerous, and annoying and just putting HID's in stock housings...

Not bad if you have them aimed lower than halogens.

PVC gets soft/maluable at a low temperature so be aware. Especially if you are planning on popping these in the oven to seal your lenses once they are complete.
