ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

painting. how much did you pay?

yo, my car is in SERIOUS need of a paint job (and new quarter panels). i can do the quarter panels myself (with the help of my teacher, at least). however, my car has some pretty bad sunfade going on haha

how much did you guys pay to have your cars painted? i haven't done a whole lot of research on this and the only place i know of in my area is a MAACO and i just don't trust that lol

maaco shops are privately owned so the quality varies. some can be good. deev had his car done at maaco and he always says its good. as long as its a good one the more you pay the better the job. the cheap ones are just that cheap jobs. maaco can run you 250 for a cheap job to 2000 or more. real shops will start in the 4 figure range unless you know someone

I only paid $200.00 for supplies and I painted my CB7 in my shop and did my own body work. Not bad for a rattle can job. lol. Check out some of my pics if you want to. I think you can check out the attachments in my profile. let me know what you think.

I did too, Plus it means you can use whatever product you want, and take your time for preparation to get it just right.

ive seen maaco paintjobs that are 3 or 4 years old. always parked outside. never covered. not even washed often. still shiny as hell. as i said it depends largely on what shop you go to

My advice would be to check around at some of the local body shops near you, get some quotes and decide where to go from there

And depends what products are used.
A lacquer clear often wont have as much shine or last as long as 2k clear, unless it is maintained.
