ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

No gauge lights, fuses are fine.

No gauge lights - no backit of the actual pods, warning lights are fine, signal lights are fine

    No thermostat lights
    - no backlit at the knobs, no backlit of the "man figure" icon, the indicator lights above those icons work though (for example, the light above the windshield icon does light up)
    • Headunit (aftermarket) is fine.
    • Dome light is fine.
    • Door lights are fine (lit when door is left open)
    • Cig. lighter is fine.
    • Brake lights are fine.
    • Reverse lights are fine.
    • Headlights are fine.

fuses (hood and kickpanel): small lights, interior lights, meter/backup lights, and all unrelated fuses all seem fine!

I've blown interior light fuses before...but wtf??

I have not done any electrical things or modded anything for months...and all was well before.

    bad switch?? a short? ideas?

All the lights probably took a shit at the same time. Or you have a short in the wiring. Both of my brake lights went out at the same time, which baffled me because I've only had one or the other go out before....but this kind of shit does happen. Your car is 15 years old at the earliest, so they probably just took a dump

For anyone running a search in the future with the same symptoms:

        it was the dimmer switch.

I went through all the damn fuses (underhood and kick panel) and even started testing/swapping the 'Lighting Relay' and 'Dimmer Relay'.

I hadn't taken apart the console to check the bulbs yet at this point, because I figured 'what are the odds all ALLLLL the bulbs of the cluster AND the climate controls went out at the same time?? It must be a separate issue'

the climate control isn't even a 'normal bulb' to change either...

Then I remembered that the dimmer switch dictates whether your dash lights come on or not (Because one time I took apart my console, left my dimmer switch somewhere in the tool box, got lazy and drove around for a few nights in the dark...). I swapped one in from the junk yard and all FIXED!

This kinda small BS makes me love the car more in the end.
