ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Shaved side moldings

Ok so I have searched and searched. Maybe i'm not phrasing it correctly but I keep comming up with shaved door handles and everything except for what i'm looking for. I work for inventory company and at the end of the year work is dead and we don't get a paycheck for shit but here in the near future as soon as funds permit i'll be getting some fiberglass and stuff to fix the couple of cracks in my body kit. I'm thinking about shaving the side moldings on the car but I can't find pics of it to see the outcome. I don't have photoshop so I can't go that route either. I'm just curious as to what it would look like and if anyone could help and not flame me for posting this thread I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks ahead of time.

this is kit-to-lip's MR thread. his old coupe. i personally like the shave look. it gave his car a very "big" look from certain angles. almost like a skyline style.

i would like do do it as well. but i haven't seen it on a sedan yet.

What do you mean "the right way". Are you talking about filling it with fiberglass or welding sheet metal over the opening and then glassing it?

Yeah i'm not planning on hammering anything lol. I'd rather have sheet metal welded over it and then bondo it but I didn't think it would pose a problem filling it with fiberglass and then going back over it with bondo or everglass or something.

LOL WTF. Yeah when I wrecked my Acura CL I thought I might possibly be able to "hammer" out the dents in my fender and it just doesn't work. There's a way to be gentle with a hammer when working on automotive sheetmetal and just threw that fender away lol. There wasn't any saving it anyways. But filling in the groove with fiberglass.........any negative thoughts?

Why thank you sir. I've just heard of people using bondo and it falling off and stuff. I guess they had their own "recipe" for mixing it or something though lol.

Hey, if you want to see how it looks after about 6 months doing it "the wrong way" with just bondo, check out the pictures in my "Feel better about your cb7" thread lol. Still looks good shaved though. Reminder: I didn't do the bondo!

I welded plate where my moldings were and the rear qtrs were widened by welding front fenders from a 3rd gen(86) accord and adding more metal btween fenders and doors, did it back in 2004 checkout my cardomain page
