ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

Replacing rear seatbelts on 1993 cb7

Would like some info on replacing the rear, drivers side seat/shoulder belt. Has anybody done this on their own, or did they have the dealership do it? Should I buy a seat belt assembly from...say...JC Whitney or stick with a genuine Honda part. Obviously the importance is huge, due to the life that might be saved in an accident.
Thanks in advance for the answers. Later Days....

      It should not be hard.

I removed mine and there are just two bolts holding them in.

I don't know where you would get a replacement other then honda or a junk yard, but just take off that back trim piece and unscrew the two bolts put the new one in, tighten the bolts back up, i believe they torque specs are listed in most manuals and you are set.

Good luck, but it should not be hard.

they def have a lifetime warranty, so just drop it off at a honda dealership....

But if you want to do it yourself or change colors, like I did when I swapped my belts out for some black ones, then there are 3 bolts
          - the shoulder belts are bolted in with 2 bolts behind the rear pillar, you have to take the platic pillar covers off and the bolts are easily accesible. These two bolts hold the entire wind up and locking mechanism of a seatblet into the frame
          - the other bolt is simply an anchor bolt under the rear seats boltd to the floor, take the rear seats out and you cant miss it

Is that for real? thats the first time i ever heard about that. The driver belt in mt cb does not go back in place which often gets jammed between the door. Would that count as a need for replacement?

yup...had them do mine...it was working just was worn a bit

I wouldn't change the color...might somehow void the warranty. I know plenty of us have r&r'd the belts ourselves doing whatever things...but changing the color MIGHT not be a good idea. And since they have the color code on the door you couldn't say you swapped the interior
