ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I want to black out my window trim, what should I use?

How can I make the window trim black?

It seems like it may peel off if I just paint it

I've thought of this myself but never actually got up to do it. I guess with a light sanding of the surface the paint should stick.

I would go to the Junk yard and yank some pieces of another CB and practice.

you can use a scotch brite pad and scuff them up. we did that at school the other day and it turned out good.

i used to work for a company that did this...

grab a steel wool pad and scuff up the trim..... with alcahol and a rag clean off all of the left over dust dirt and debris from the sills...... get a can of flat back spray paint... use krylon its good against the sun..... tape up around the sills with painters tape or the pale stuff..... dont use duct tape or you'll have a nasty mess to clean up afterwards.......... then also grab a nice size piece of cardboard maybe lets say 24x20 and use that as an overspray blocker........ use the cardboard for the body of the car not the window..... spray paint can be easily taken off windows with a razor blade or siply by spraying alcahol and wiping it off as long as its fresh i.e same day.....

dont spray too close or you'll run the paint or it'll get all blotchy and nasty lookin..... i'll post a diy on that too...

I did it on mine, just scuff up the trim til its opaque, tape it off and spray with job specific paint. It came out beautiful, if u want pics PM me. Cuz I'm on my phone.

id say its pretty straight forward...removing the actual pieces before you paint them would be bonus
