ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Fog switch wiring trouble

ok so i had ALOT of trouble figuring out which wire goes where with my switch....i finally have the backlight working for the switch, they go off when high beams are put on. however, i have one thing which i dont think is right. when i turn my lights off, i can just press the fog light switch to turn my headlights on.....strange. if i turn my headlights on with the proper control on the steering wheel, and then press the fog button, the fogs come on (well only 1, im guessing 1 is out...?). please advise if ive done anything wrong and what to do. thanks in advance

ok.. they are supposed to turn off when you have your high beams on. there must be a wire that is wired wrong in the switch. Search and find the wiring for the fogs. Its here somewhere.

i have the wiring diagram, it doesnt mean sh@t to me as im dumb with wiring. ive tried 14 different combinations with the wiring now, and this is the best ive got. i know they go off when the highs are turned on, i didnt say that was a problem. the problem is i can turn my headlights on by just pressing the button...ill keep trying different combinations as everyone can only direct me towards the wiring diagram, which doesnt help me at all. theres only so many combinations

try this.... you know where you plugged in the fogs to the car, above the fuses by the driver's feet? There are like 4 different plugs you can plug them into, try plugging it into the other sockets...

There's one socket, that allows the fogs to come on at anytime the car is on.... whether the high's are on or not.. thats the one mine are plugged into. if you cant figure it out by this weekend, ill take pics.. (my car's at home, and im going home this weekend)

having them turn off when the highs come on isnt an issue, im fine with that. im not fine with the headlights turning on when i simply press the fog button, and also the fact that the right fog is out...

run the power to the fog relay via your low beams. Then, when the high beams turn on, the fogs will turn off with the low beams.

he's telling the truth bro just look at it and try each plug.. takes all of about two seconds to test each plug out.. might aswell knock that test out before you start ripping into the wiring..

ok i switched the plugs around. everything works as it should, ie backlight for switch, fogs come on when button is pressed (although the right is still out, maybe needs a new bulb?), fogs turn off when high beams are turned on, and fogs turn off when headlights are turned off. however, when i then turn the car off, i leave the switch pushed in with headlights off so fogs arent on either, but the headlights turn on when i turn the car off.....is my wiring wrong??

i dont think u understand what i mean. i have my car running with the lights on with the switch pushed in so the fogs are on too. when i wanna turn the car off, i first turn the headlights off from the turny thing attached to the steering wheel while leaving the fog switch pushed in, which obviously turns the headlights off as well as the fogs. but then when i turn the ignition off, the headlights come back on even tho the headlight switch has them to off (the fog switch is pushed in). obviously there is a wire wrong somewhere with the switch, as if i forget to push the button out before i leave the car, the headlights stay on along with the back light for the air conditioning buttons...

if a video is needed i will take one and post it
