ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    New to the site!new project!

    Hey Everyone

I'm new here on the site so far its been the best resource for info!
I'm starting to fix up my 93 accord lx
I'm working on little details right now as it was in an accident awhile back!

    I got a new bumper,grille,fender and lights

The person that hit me was not insured so they paid for the repairs.......but the a-holes at the repair shop did a crappy job!

I got everything aftermarket not Genuine Honda.......The bumpers paint is cracking and fallin off and its not sitting straight!

So far I painted my corner lights and grille.....so next I want to fix the bumper!

What process should I take to repaint?

sand and repaint with any regular paint?Duplicolor?
or use that special bumper paint they sell at autozone?
any idea on how to fix the angle on it so it can sit more straight?

White CB's are a dime a dozen. If you look around at junks yards I'm sure you will find a white bumper in good shape in no time. Or you can try to rattle can it and it end up cracking again in a few months.

X2, in fact I saw two white Accords last time I went to the junkyard bumpers and everything. Probably pick one up really cheap.

          I'm totally into that
I actually did try the junkyards but all the accords here in LA area get stripped within a few hours!

Thats why I wanted to fix this one up....but I was kinda thinking a new paint job would not last!

                its all about prep work

If the bumper was preped correctly, the paint would stay on just like factory paint. shearch the web on painting techniques!

i redid my rear bumper with regular paint. what you want to do is and it down and then primer it and then paint it..... take the time with it and do not do heavy coats of primer and paint....
are we there yet are we there yet are we there yet

It doesnt seem like they used any primer or clear coat. If they used proper paint i shouldnt be so stiff that it will crack that easily. A good paint and clear coat should be quite flexible. I have been thinking on buying an aftermarket 9293 front end, do you think they are no good quality? Good luck on the project
