When I went to black house my eBay ome replacement headlights, they came apart really nicely after pulling the oven trick. Now, I tried this with the new ome corners that came with those headlights and it appears that they may be glued w/ something different than the main housings- because for the life of me I cant get them apart. I have seen black housed ome corners on here before, so there must be a way to do this. Im thinking maybe nail polish remover to dissolve the glue? idk, I don't wanna mess them up either......any thoughts?

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Both sets of my corners (OEM and ebay shits) came off easily. I used the screwdriver method, slowly and gently prying around the edges repeatedly until it came off.
I blackhoused my OEMs. I left the 'socket' area where the bulbs are chrome so they still reflect (behind the reflector) and it looks ok. Have some pics somewhere.

Yeah, me too. Here's my experience, if it helps:
OEM = hard backing, lens very quick to cloud/melt if overheated
eBay = soft backing, "hard-as-rock" glue, lens cracked easily but no clouding
IMO, you'd have better luck w/ oems, since the materials are more durable, both lens and back part. Good luck and when you figure out a way, pls. let us know. I would, but I've only got one set left.

Im going to scout for some clean ome's then. If I have to, I can polish them to look new. Ya, I have the eagle eyes brand of eBay ome headlights, I really don't recommend the corners they come with for anyone who may want to take them apart for anything...lol Wish it would chill out w/ the rain here for a few days so i don't have to walk through a lake @ the junkyard to find some. thanks guys
