ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Clearcoat or no Clearcoat?

    Hey guys,
Well i've been looking around now for about 3 weeks for a new cb7 and i've seen stacks. I saw mainly interested in a metallic silver 92-93 model, however recently stumbled across a white one that sounds in awesome condition. I'm yet to see this car, i will be on the weekend but i just want to be armed with as much information as possible before making a decision.

I looked up the paint code on a really helpful thread somewhere here, and the paint code the guy read me of the car matches "Frost White"
Now i noticed there was about 15 different colors and frost white was the only one that didn't receive a clear coat. I'm just curious about this. I assume all the others got it because they have a metallic paint job. I'm just trying to compare this paintwork with no clear coat to the metallic ones that do have it. In terms of looks, but mainly durability, it gets quite hot here in Australia so the suns weathering on a car is enhanced.

    Just want everyones opinions,

    Thanks =)

I think the car will answer your question when you see it. If the lack of clear coat leads to fading in Frost White then you should be able to spot it right away as the car has aged to the point for the paint to have already faded. I may be wrong, but I believe white is the most durable color to resist fading. Hope the car looks good for you.

when i got my frost white coupe...because it had no clear coat, when i washed it and the water hit it, all u would see is water thats is the same color as the paint wash off... after about 3 days of washing and the paint washing off, i used some zymol boat wax on the car and it was as good as new...so no you wont see any fading, or at least nothing for you to be highly concerned about.

edit: but even though it looks as if my car had some sort of clear coat on it, just do as i said above about 3 washes and zymol boat wax
