ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I used a metal wire brush, also use solvent-resisent gloves. I used regular old vinyl gloves and kept changing them. Also I didn't wear long sleeves, so it was a little painful.

I just bought some chem resistant gloves for stripping/staining/painting and also got a grout brush. It will work perfect for in between the spokes on the wheel.

Spray it with the tires on. After it dries, get a wire brush and a plastic wheel brush for the rim crevises. If need be, use Simple Green to lube the paint on the tires. If you don't believe me then see my work for yourself:

I've been using rattle cans for numerous things (except getting high). Trust me, I've painted so many rims. This is the easiest way to do it.

Thanks bro. I've been working with spray paint for some time now. Not much anymore...at least not on my car. I used to be a rattle can whore. I grew out of it. You can definately achieve good results. It just depends on:

                1. The prep
                2. The painter

That looks hella nice....I heard if you put Crisco on the tires, you can just paint and afterwards, you can just rinse the Crisco off and the paint won't stick. Is that true?

I'm going to be taping off the tires, but just wondering.

Not a bad idea. Problem is if you get crisco on the rims youre gonna have to really scrub the oil off. You dont want oil between your primer and paint. Chances are the paint will bubble. If you take my route it'll be safe. I may not have the best solution but lemme tell you...it works
