ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    re-painted hood

aight so...when i bought my car from jdmchristian991 for some reason he had painted the hood flat black

i never could understand why but that's beside the point ...anyway i got tired of the way it looked and decided to paint it again. i kept it black but it looks way better now. i sanded it down, primered it, sprayed it with black duplicolor, then put clear top coat on it...here's some pics of it now

let me know what ya'll think

it all depends on where you look...i found one on craigslist.org but it got sold out from under me...you can find one online or at a junk yard for pretty cheap.

I cannot find one at a junkyard that is not in any better condition than mine is. Maybe you have better luck!! LOL

Hey, no offense but it looks really bad.

You can get way better results with spray paint in can.

I suggest practicing on something else and then trying to repaint the hood again.

You should be able to get it to look almost identical to a quality factory paintjob.

Also it looks dented to me, I would fix the dents first, it will look 10x better.

Forgot to say, you need to take the hood off OR mask tape the whole car when spray painting. I bet you have spray paint all over your windshield.

Take some pics after its completely dried.

Also kinda looks like you were spraying a little too close.
                  wat?

Wowzers. Did you try to paint it flat black again with clear coat or something? Theres only like 4 bolts holding the hood on. I'd take it off next time before trying to paint..

it is dented and because of where the dents are i can't get them out...i've gotten like 1 dent out of it but the others i can't get to

U can still the pattern line across the hood from the rattle can, the hood still looks the same to me, u said u used dupli color, with the fan spray pattern?

I use it all the time and no lines show, I like the primered look.
