ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    9006 to 9005 retrofit/conversion...PICS INSIDE!

As some of you may know, I have a 92 Vigor GS. I did a 9006 to 9005 retrofit/conversion on it, and here are some pictures of it. This has probably been brought up or posted before, but here's the conversion on my car....this can be done on the Accord as well so that's why I'm posting it. Anyways, going to be taking night pictures as soon as it's dark.....

Here's with the left side 9005 and the right side 9006

Drivers side 9006 then second picture is after the 9005 conversion

    Both sides 9005

    Passengers side 9005

I was going to get Silverstar Ultra's but at 50 bucks a pair, I opted out. I was a bit upset that they didn't sell a 9005 Cool Blue two pack at Pep Boys, so I had to buy them individually. The two packs are about 2 bucks cheaper than if you bought them individually. Oh well.

Until I decide to drop HID's in, this will do. Going to probably do 9005 HID's.

Have you had any problems on your 9005s?

Oh and one other thing I did not mention...after reading about people doing the 9005 conversion, some have said they had to modify one of the outter prongs (center) in order to have their bulbs fit. That wasn't the case on my assembly...the outter two (right/left) prongs twisted and stopped just as the 9006 did, and the top one didn't hit the stop, but everything lined up good. I screwed the cover down and the bulbs are secured in good. Only thing I had to do was take a knife and cut out the inner two "guides" in the bulb socket.

Yeah I have to cut a portion of the top tab to make the bulb fit in.

        Never had problems on them.

Here are some night pictures. First 4 are with the OEM 9006 bulbs...then the second set of 4 pictures is the same exact angle with the 9005 retrofits. Looks amazing if I do say so myself. Picture was taken in the same lighting in the same parking spot. There was no flash on the camera.

The cutoff is better on the 9005 in that picture. There isn't really a wall around here I could use to show what the lights look like on mine....I could take a road driving picture though.

Yours really turned out well. Noticed a huge difference on light output. It's the cheap alternative next to HID Conversion kits.

Thanks, I like it. I want to do HID's but at the same time I don't want to. Mainly because my lights don't have projectors, and I'm not 100% sure on how good it would look without a nice projector cutoff. I'm about to go out in a minute and get a shot of how the light looks on the road. I just don't have a "before" photo of it. Which actually makes me a bit mad that I didn't take one because I like to be thorough in writeups....

My car on HID's. Spreads a lot of glare but I adjusted them down.

Here is another comparison shot...from the top angle this time. I know the pictures are a bit big in the post, and a side by side comparison would probably do a bit more justice.

Those HID's don't look bad actually. Just blind someone if they weren't angled down. Which I'm not sure how I would do that because my headlights aren't adjustable

That sucks. Retrofit is your best bet.

It does suck, but the police around these parts can be a bitch sometimes. In my 98 Accord (R.I.P.) I had projectors with H3's and H1's I believe....got pulled over for them. They said it was too bright, but I couldn't get anything less bright. So I left them...didn't get bothered after that, and I ended up wrecking the car and taking the lights and selling them anyways.
