Higher K = Less light output.

5000K to 6000K are on my book. 8000K not so good from my experience.

I'm now running 3000K which are yellow and are better than stock ones.

hmm... next question, will i need any modifications to the wire harness or anything like that?

Watts above the factory specs will need a high performance harness , otherwise high wattage bulbs will or will not melt the factory harness. I suggest getting hi-perf ones , don't risk it.

Yeah no mods needed as long as you get the right bulb.
