How 2 hook up my H.I.D.'s

My boy gave me a set of hid from a 2000 Acura TL so how do I hook them up 2 my Accord stock low beam?

now to the OP, i'm terrible with electronics, so i can't really help you or give you any advice, but i can try. but be more elaborate. what are you having trouble with?

well the stock hids in that car is a type called d2r. reflective hid bulbs made for a proper reflective housing. with our cars you would need a rebased bulb but not sure if you can go from oem to ours.

well in order to keep those bulbs a retrofit is needed!

did he just give you the bulbs only? or did it come with the ballasts as well?

in either case, you'd need to do a retrofit unless you just went ahead and got rebased bulbs.

yah you can retro a projector into your headlight giving the max ultimate output. since you didnt pay for the ballasts at all your already about $150 dollars ahead of the game.

im retrofitting fx35 projectors into my van. i hated the hid in stock housings. just too much attention and glare and not as much usable light..noticable amount more but more uncontrolled.

oh what would be beutiful would be TSX projectors modded into your headlights w/d2s bulbs...oh that would look soo sexxy!




...imagine that, and it would be more legal than a hid KIT thats thrown in the lights.

Well I got everything, ballast and bulbs, I know about the retrofit from doin my research here on the forum, I'm asking can I just splice them to the wires that are connected 2 the pigtail, that are on the stock bulb, if so will it harm my wiring in my car? Also, anybody know why I'm still a newcomer and I been wit the club since last year?

you SHOULD make or buy a relay harness for the hids.....

second, how you going to get it into your factory....go to the websites i posted.

Your title says Newcomer until you hit 100 posts. You're not restricted in any way, however.



You need to get a harness. You'll fry your stock wiring if you don't. I just installed one in my GTP yesterday.
I got mine from here. $15 shipped. Good quality. VERY cheap for what it is (the harness for my CB7 was $45 plus shipping!)

The connector should be a 2 wire setup. Power and ground. You should be able to just splice on the proper connectors.

i dont think your going to be able to get the oem setup into our oem setup....i dont think it goes oem to oem...i know you can do oem to aftermarket ballasts but not sure abotu it backwards.

A friend of mines did it in his CE wagon, it looks great, he told me i didnt need anything i could just splice everything together. But im playing it safe and get the harness. U cant beat 15 bux !!! Thanx 4 link Deev and Accordztech

8when u think about it yes u can retro fit and yes it may look better but the fact of the matter is that most people are fine with just throwing an hid kit onto stock cb7 headlamps and thas fine and dandy most people who look at this forum are like wth because it is no longer a basic conversation for noobs

i just dont see an oem d2r bulb fitting into our 9006 housings. unless u get some rebased bulbs that fir the 9006.
