ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Anybody gotten their Windsheild Replaced?

How much did it cost you to get it done?

    #2
Just got mine changed. My friend has a Auto Glass business, so he only charged me for the window, not the labour. I paid $100. I would assume, the labour is atleast $60 or more.

My CB7 is now ***FOR SALE***

I wanna say $168...maybe $180. It wasnt too bad. Also came with the top tinted

:NOTE: if/when you have someone else do it, make sure they replace the clip at the top that holds the rearview mirror. Guy didnt do it with mine and now my mirror "moves" around alot....

What car was this? All the Honda's I've seen have the mirror attached to the headliner. hmm

Friend had one replaced on a Z31 for $213. Not sure how much mine would've been, glass is covered by my insurance. It was scary seeing the little bits of rust under there. He couldn't put a couple clips back, used more adhesive there. Ack.

                  It was my accord.

The mirror is attached to the headliner, but there a little clip piece thats attached to the windshield. It keeps the mirror arm from "swaying" or "moving".

yeah man, you're looking at about $200 give or take. Anything way higher than that is too much. Make sure they use the same manufacturer glass as the oem one (it's written on the glass in a little corner somewhere). Go somewhere that warrantees their work, in case it leaks later.

Also, be aware that our oem shields come in subtle green and brown tints, and I have also heard they come in blueish tint. The top part is darkly tinted usually as well. So if you care about the subtle tint, now's your time to specify.

A little over $400, which was bullshit. There was a bunch of rust under the windshield he had to cut out and fix though, but, he didn't take out the plastic pillar cover things and hacked them to shit when he cut the window out (I didn't notice until later). Did a terrible paint job around the windshield and on a bit of the roof (had to sand and grind down to "fix" rust). The paint doesn't blend well and the white it a little off. The rust is now coming back full force. Gah.

Oh OK. Mine just doesn't have it then. Think I would've noticed when I replaced the whole thing. Yet another little tid-bit of info on the CB.

it's a little rubber piece that fits in between your mirror and windshield. you can probably find one at a jy if yours moves around a lot.

got mine done for $120. They didn't do the best of job, but theres no crack and it don't leak so I'm cool about it.
