Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    rear quarters?

    Does anyone know exactly where teh water comes from to rust out the rear quarters?

    ive always thought theres some kind of sponge type material that is screwed on to the inner wheel well, and it prevents the water from going up into the trunk area, and since its spongy, it keeps the water there, and it eventually rusts

      ive *heard* that its a sunroof drain.. but im not too sure...

      im curious as well.

        i dont think so because if it was a sunroof drain why do lx and dx rust aswell

            My friends dad that owns a body shop said it happens because the bolt that holds that part of the bumper up is metal and threads into the lip on the quarter panel that is also metal and starts to rust over the years. I don't know if it is true neither have I taken my back bumper off so I don't know if the case is true but is something to check out.

              A good preventive measure for any car is to rinse inside your wheel wells. Most cars have a ledge that holds water, mud, salt, and anything else that can cause rust.

                yeah i would think so too, why would lx's, when i bought my car it had a caulking on my trunk area on my rear quarters, anything? but ive always wondered why that?

                  Also take off the rubber strip around your wheel well.
                  That is what holds the water/salt and accumulates over time and thus causingg the quarter panel to rust.

                  Its not the sunroof drain...

                    The last one I fixed the rust was all under the seamsealer and the worst spot was where the bumper bolts on, so there may be truth in what customchord said....

                      appreciate it guys. I asked a buddy of mine and the only answer I got was "it's cheap steal". He helped alot. Just another one of those things to look in to. Thanx again

                          i got the same problem but mine also has a leak that goes into the trunk and i cant find it

                              i must be lucky then. i dont have it there. but i do have some on the passenger's floorboard(i have no carpet haha). i dont know how bad it is because i dont see any uder the car. is this common also?
