You need to get him what everymeduim or large size dog should have a halt harness there made from rop sorta google it they work wonder for puppys and dogs

i like dogs but i dislike pits...i know its bloodline and how u raise them but they just suck....i dont know...i was at some peeps house once and they had a youngin pit and they deff didnt raise it to be no killer and i dont know its bloodline but it wanted to tear me and my buddy to shreds but it was fine playing with a 8 year old girl?!??! all i know is we were outside pulling parts from an old CRX and i had a sledgehammer near me and when they brought the dog out to play and i saw it was acting funny i kept a nice grip on that sledgehammer, cuz love em or hate em that fucker isnt biting me lol

his owner was out there chillen with us and everything....the worst part was that he was acting weird towards us and the owner gave the leash to the 8 y o who could barely hold it cuz he was obviously stronger so i was just waiting for that leash to drop and if it would have came at me that would have been a done deal.

I mean i guess i can see it being protective but normally dogs bark and shit to be protective....another buddy of mine had a 160lbs neopolitan mastiff and a rottie about the same size and they let you know when they dont like you but they dont try to eat everyone they see...thats why i dont like pits...you can intimidate without biting people....ehhh i dont know just my humble .02c

my chow is the sweetest dog ive ever had she wont growl or bit anyone if im there

but one the someone came in the yard and knocked on are door (I guess he couldnt read beware of dog on the gate) and she bit him and latched on good thing I ws home to get her off him

we wernt responsable because the beware of dog sign so heres a tip if you have dogs even small ones make sure to put beware of dog signs sometime the smallest are the meanest lol

most people dont like pitbulls because they "will bite" but there are more reports of golden retrivers biting kids and mail carriers the media just dosent pump it up like they do pit bulls.(aka terrorists)

ive owned 10 and only one had biten a person and that person raised his voice to me and the dog didnt like that so he was bitten lol it was actually funny

but if you have good intension breeding them, and make sure you train them

i know it's kinda like racism, how Pit and Bull Breeds are misinformed(except for those FAT eng. bull dogs, they are just big fat chilling dogs) to peeps...
but pit/bull owners has to know that the bad rep the breed has built is based on real facts..

whoever started the fight(your pit, that little bitch ass yoki next door, or the person who provoked the dog somehow), pits will finish the conforntation by ripping shit off.. with hard/strong body and jaw mashin' bitin' strength

also, i had exp w/ 4 bull/pit breeds(germen/pit mix, pit and amstaff mix, amstaff, staffy bull), the nature of the pit(figthing)dog will come out soon or later(my youngest staffy bull just turned 1yr old and he starting to show the Pits' SNap factor. maybe not toward his masters and family but to strangers and other animal.

gotta know that when pits bite, they are provoked or feared of something, but also they bite BC they think the other person or animal or object watever is playing(by exchanging pain, they are desined to feel less pain and more drive, even when they are figthing in cage)...

i've seen lots of kids who buys pit BC all the rap Video and BET and all that, but not thinking of the responsebility that comes w/figthng breed,
yea yea yea i know that pits are the KUTEST when they are pupps
but when dog grow older the dogs' gonna be reliability to you and peep arround you,if you don train him proper way

and do you know that you are not supposed to sell/buy any dogs when they are younger than 8-10 wks(that's when puups learn how to controll his biting strength by playing w/other pupps from same liter, and for figthin breed it is vary important that you let pupps learn how to controll the bite)

since you already got the pupp

here is some pointers fo u...

do not leave him alone more than hrs Specially when young age, if pit's left alone, pits get bored, and that's how they get nasty biting/chewing habit.

and if pup is left alone, he might develop the anxity of not being w/master
so teach him that it is ok to be alone for while..

make sure that you show him what's his chew toy and what's not...

if pit demand something, don just give to him, make sure that he wil do some task(simple "sit", and "Stay" will do fine) b4 he get's it...

do not let him sleep on your bed(starting from young pupp), make sure that he has his bed near yours,
by seprating the sleeping areas, you will teach him that you are the absolute MASTER.

make sure you socialize the pit B4 he gets 6month-10month,
go have daily walk w/him, let him know your heborhood and peeps,
take him to dog beach or park once a 2wks or every saturday(gr8t ways to meet girls too, specially when they are pupps)
so that he learn to co exist w/other dogs

do not feed him chicken by product, might developed skin/fur prblems

don ever let him taste frash blood EVER

don hit him, if you hit pits(like i said above) they might response by biting the hand foot or bat that you swing BC he thinks masters playing Throw/catch the fist w/him
so harder you bit him he will try harder to get back at you(not BC of Anger but BC he thinks it's game)

if you need to displin pit, just pin him down side way to ground for 1min or so(i know some peeps might not agree w/ my method but it works for me and my dogs)

DO not teach the dog how to ATTK
pls done even ask around, it will come to you, like it or not, just matter of time...

and make sure he learns that even small peeps(children) are his master, pits go after little children BC dumbass owners didn teach him that, so pit thinks small children are preys... and small kid run away from pit, that's when prey run/gamess mixs and pops!!!!

make sure you are up for task of trainnin and responsibility

i see lots of pits geting killed in sherter every week(i live in LA CA AKA pit capital) BC owner counldnt handle the dog

my pit is about 2yrs old and staffy is 1yr old, and i can saftly say that my dogs are well trainned...

pit/bull breed can be your BEST friend/bodyguard,
when i walk around w/dogs most of peeps get scared, parents wont even let children out(i worked on that so it fine now)
there is plus/minus factor
but you will learn to enjoy how peeps fear your pit somehow...

pit owners must understand the same things i have to understand when keeping my venomous snakes; there is NO room for even ONE mistake. bad will be magnified by the media and good will be overlooked.

and don't ever forget that your animal has a mind of its own. you can think you know it well, but you just don't know when it's having a bad day or just doesn't like someone's scent or build or whatever. with a pit, even one that's a big baby, it's best to ALWAYS have TOTAL control so it doesn't have that one incident.

you have to somewhat detach yourself and look at it from another perspective because if you don't, you're putting other owners and the dogs themselves at risk. every time some moron lets his rattler bite him, it affects me somewhere down the road.

more bans, more regulations, etc. people are stupid and for the most part, don't give a fuck about stuff that isn't in the news. you can only inform those who wanna hear, but you have to be persistent, accurate with your facts and understanding of how some people are just idiots.

some aren't worth wasting the time on. some are.
