His name is Yoshi, and he shits more than any dog I've ever seen in my life, but I love him to death. He loves to cuddle up under blankets, even when it's searing hot, and he's just a general comfort-whore. He listens very well outside, I let him run around our two or three acre property without a leash and he'll come if I call him, even if he sees something he wants to chase - usually rabbits or other dogs. He's a sweetheart and would never, ever bite anyone. When he gets scared or excited, he pisses himself. It's kind of funny.

any dog should be on a pretty steady once a day shit schedule. if he is not then you need to look into reason. we were just buying the cheapo wal-mart brand dog food for our (approx 4 years old, 10 pound) daschound figuring food was food and he was like a shit machine also, in the house, outside, while walking, while speeping, didnt matter to him where he did it. one day i was talking to a friend who's wife breeds some other breed of dogs (cant remember exactly what she breeds) and he said to change the dog's food. when i asked what he suggested, he said his wife swears by purina lamb & rice (dry stuff in a bag). with in a few days time after switching to this food we noticed that the dog was eating way less and was on a regular once a day eating and shitting schedule. the reason is because the purina doesnt have all the fillers that the cheapo brand did so he dont have to eat as much to get full......less garbage to poop out. not to mention that he is now way healthier. give this stuff a try and let me know what happens.

sidenote: it's not as hard to love the dog now since we (i mean my wife ) arent always cleaning up poop.
