wow your dog must've been raised w/ pack of good dogs, knowin how to behave w/little dogs..
and fact that she was being used as pit bait, and still nice to other dogs..

    you r one lucky bastard..
BC u found that chillin DP
when i was just helpin local pound little
DP were not popular dog to adapte, BC DPs' nature of sensetivity/alretness

even to peeps who look for guard dogs they like GS or boxer over DP saying GS has more stable temper..

i have seen most of adapted DPs were sent back to sherter in less then few months
most of the pins i've seen were sensetively alert, n were acting vicious/protective toward every littlethings (no doubt on DP's FIRST royalty to master) that makes DP, one of top guard dogs
i consider the best guarddogs GS dog n DP,
but just do not like how GS dog looks w/long hair n narrow head
BC i perfer short hair dog w/ big square head..

was she fixxed B4 u got her..? or did u..?
my dogs arent'... i oppose on kuttin balls of my sons
she could' have been a good breeder dog ...
i still think that fixxin, tieng tube on dogs are cruel to dogs...
unless the dog is pedigree blood or show ring dog,
it need to be done BC there are t0o many unstable dogs w/ dumb ownners so..

what's the weight of you DP..?
looks pretty tall for Female(auctuall she looks bigger than some of well Built DPs i have seen)
    what's shoulder hight..?

please take care of your dog...

      i also love BUll/pit breed...
      never had boxer...
i heard that they are the only pit /bull breed that suitable for guarding job(guarding propertie when Master not around)

cus my pit n staffordshire are not guard dogs, but protector dog..
they love every1, as long as i m not harmmed or seem angery toward some1

i know GS DP boxer etc guard dogs dont go to stranger n lay down beggin for stomach rubbig, hell they wont even let stranger touch them w/o master permmision... i want my pits to be more like that..

      but

      my pits do
i was bummed off for first 6mo-1yr...
i thought i raised them too nice, they were never punished Hard.. never...

but after age 1yr n half passed
i was driving w/dogs somehow when i was fillin the car up
this guy yelled at me for kutting him off or something
i didn care BC didn wanna make any shit w/any1
and when i tought that i had enuff n was about say something back

      amazingly...

      they started barking crazy...
that was the firsttime i've seen them getting protective

after few more incidents like that,
i can tell they have grown to good protector dogs

      PIT/BULL breed are most misunderstood...
don hate them just BC they look the way they do...

to the day PIT/bull get the rep. they deserve....

he was biting mee as return for my love,
i had to put him on his back everytime he did that for about 1 month

Thanks she adapted very well for us, i was raised around DP's so i knew what to do and what not to do with them, they are alot like big cats they will let you love on them when they want to.

Shy is about 65pounds i actually think she is a little small for the breed, but a good size for us. She was fixed when we adopted her, and the pound would of made us get her fixed if she wasnt, not a big deal i hate dealing with a femal dog in heat.

She has her quirks dont get me wrong but overall she is the best dog i have ever owned, very protective of us, and very sweet!

ive said before i dont like pits but that just me i love the DP because they look mean but are sweet at heart, these days they have less of a rap sheet then the pit. i would say if you want one go for it they are great dogs!

i beg your pardon.. i still see parents callin thier childrens in whenever my my neigbors DP is on daily work...

your DP weight 65 lb..? i thought it will be more like 50lb...
wow i guess i m so used to seeing that stocky body of pits...

what r the pointers u can give to noobi DP owners..?
what so different about DPs from other breeds?

BC my friend wants BAD DOG and he wants DPs or shar pei(i know it is the dumbest reason to get dogs but) he is vary use to my pits so he will do OK

u know why DP get less shiety rep..?
BC they can not kill full grown human like pits do...

i still think that if pits r getting banned tommorow, i will go w/ DPs over any dogs

                anyways..
don get any pit/bull breed if u r not willing to learn how to handle thier fightin heritage...
except for Eng bulldog(that's if u can afford to pay 2.5k$ for that fat sack of ham)/boxer, since they are known to have more stable temper...

specially lots of peeps think that bull terier(the friday/target Dog) are chilling but.. that no no...
i think bull terrier have more play, and in bull/pit breeds more playness can be indication of more snap factor in the dog...

my friend bought Bull terrier, BC he likes my pits so much and thinking it be easier to handle bull terrier than Pit/staffordshires...

                WRONG!!!!

the dog was chillin untill he was 8months and weight 50lb...
the dog snapped at his GF bittin her ass.... not badly..
and developed bad bitin habit... eat up all the funitures, bed sheets his PS2 n more
my first pit was mess BC i didn know how to handle the breed...

so if u and peeps around u don mind gettin bitten few times, and waste few pair of shoes, thank get it..
BC pits r ultimate playmate n also best protector up aganist any humans(w/o gun)dogs or animals since pits were originally breed to fight tigers/lions/bulls in cage untill they banned the sports
after that peeps starting to get on dog fights BC u don need big cage or big place when two dogs r fightin..

the reason why i get so serious on Pits topics.. BC they are the most misunderstood creature on earth, and my two sons happen to be PITs
                it's all up to owners..
u be suprise, BC even furious figther pits during matche in the cage, when reF(yes they do have REFs in pit cage event) call it off they break off..
if one of'em does not obey ref. the dog is disqualify..

don get me wrong i don fight dogs..
but watched some videos BC my friend in East LA used to fight/breed fight pits and let me borrow few vhs...
saw this 50lb pit taking down AmRott mix about 70lb easily....
and 80lb jap. tosa in same night, he didn even bark even once, n he walked out w/ few small ripps.. that's it

                that's when i fell love w/ stafforshire's power n ruggeness

my point is DON hate PIT/staffordshire/fightin breed just BC every1 does...

it's so sad so many pit lookin mix dogs get abbandonned/ put to sleep just BC they look like PITs...

                Punishe the owner
                Punishe the deed
                not the breed...

Say no to ANY local SB law BC even they make the law, all the good owners r the onces that will obey n let them go, not the dumbass owners w/o responsibilities

great looking dog! although if i saw it coming to me on the street i wouldnt hesitate to injure it in any way possible. They arent very approchable dogs. I dated this chic with a bulldog and a doberman wow did i feel uncomfortable around them. I was always waiting for them to snap and if they did i would have to punch and hurt them, if not it would continue to eat you. It has happened many times. I do enjoy large dogs, i own a siberian husky, sweatest dog ever, although he lets the wildside out once in a while.

for ppl thinking of owning a DP here is some advise. ( i think its good for any dog tho)

if you get a puppy introduce them to other ppl and other animals make sure they are used to everything as a pup then its easier when they are older.

DP's are velcro dogs they require alot of attention, if you cannot give them that attention they arent the dog for you. the ones that are usually the bad dogs are the ones that are chained up in a yard and never socialized.

When meeting someone elses DP dont look them in the eye, it pisses them off, do not force the dog into letting you pet them, let them come to you. They say to not play dominate games with DP's tug of rope, or play fighting, you do not want to incourage them to bite or be the dominate role in the household. DP's should be trained and you should be in complete control of you dog ( no matter what breed)DP's are very quiet dogs and sometimes hard to read if you are uncertain or scared of them dont get close they can read you and usually dont like that.

With any dog watch for signs of aggression, ears back, rigid body, no tail wagging. DP's smile it looks scarry but its actually them being friendly.

I know all that sounds real bad but its actually very mch so true with any breed, when ppl approach me and my dog and ask if she bites i say she has teeth she can. Shy is not aggressive in any way but i never want to risk her or someone else getting hurt.

I like the fact DP's are not approachable i take my dog with me everywhere and i am a girl i feel very comfy walking anywhere with her at my side because ppl dont mess with me, i kidd and say i have the best car alarm in the world, because she is usually in the car.

I wouldnt ever hit any dog unless they attacked me first, provoking a dog by smacking them in the face is just looking for someone to get hurt.

I ususally call my girlfriend over to the computer to see the dog pics when I look these threads. And hearing about her former life almost made her cry. We are so glad you gave her a new start. We both agree that she is a absolutely gorgeous dog.
