New soon to be owner in Houston

Hey guys, I'm about to pick up a 1993 LX. Runs pretty good, ac is cold. Only thing is I'd like to get a couple things done like maybe the timing belt and it definately needs a new exhaust system. There is a universal type canister on it now that is way too loud. I mean it's embarassing to drive really, I'm too old for all that Anyone know of any muffler shops that could do something custom for a decent price? Probably need a decent muffler and a couple resonators to keep it quiet. Other than that I'm just looking for a decent shop that can work on these things in their sleep thats on the north side (1960 area). I'm gonna get me a shop manual (what's the standard one to get out there for these cars BTW?) and do most of the work myself but's nice to have a shop to go to when I need one. Bear with me since I'm a long time VW guy and they are all I know at the moment. thanks!

Check out the cb7 links to manuals. Or try to get your hands on a Haines or Chilton manual. There not that detailed but will do the job more or less. Late

yeah, I do most of the work on all my cars, have for awhile now. So I picked up a shitty haynes manual. Ordering a helms here soon and have checked out all the DIY's and how to's whereever I could find them. Most stuff I feel like I can do. I also found a couple decent places to go in Houston when I get in over my head. I have a few buddies that are hardcore Honda heads, even though I was sort of a hardcore VW head, so I have pretty much figured out where I need to go if I can't do something.
