    thats very helpful thanks joesue.

i wouldnt know my dilema until i get it leak tested right? FAK!

if my walls/pistons are jacked there goes my wheel money! lets not hope its that.

worst case they're both bad, then i'd suggest a jdm block rather than a rebuild. honda motors, when taken apart (head from block, etc), gamble their reliability. my $0.02.

      nice wilson! you're not down!

jdm block would be the worse case scenerio. oh the nightmare of switching to obd-1 or finding a 00+ jdm motor.

next year im due for smog.

so yea worse case scenerio id have to either rebuild the block.

i might as well knife edge the crank how much would that cost anyway

I would def rebuild the short block if that's the case. and might as well replace the valve seals while you're at it. I think it cost's around 40 bucks per cyl. to bore it, and like a few hundred to knife edge it. then you're gonna have to buy new rod bearings, shit, you're looking at around 2g's I'd have to say. (that's after labor and machining and parts.). I would hit up jesus for a leak down prior to anything.

If you have 5 kids and a mortgage payment, and take care of younger sis and mom like me, then you will be saying "yeah, I have an engine to rebuild (2 years later LOL)".
