i want to repaint my valve cover. i already bought paint stripper, i just need paint.

which looks closer to OEM the VHT wrinkle red or kyrlon wrinkle red?

I have an extra can of the VHT I really dont like the way it came out, next time I will try the kyrlon. The VHT from top looks good but as I looked lower to were it would make up the head the wrinkles became huge, on of 3 things i can think happen, too much / too little paint, not enough on the areas and lastly just bad luck.

heres the funny weld, maybe its no bid deal, i dont know.

damn jed. didnt u shave the valve cover?? if you go with wrinkle red on that thing.... had found a lude a while back that had this and looked like a K series valve cover

It came out really red not bad, looks nice, over all not bad, if you check out my for sale link you can how bright red it came, I also panted it with a black base coat, don't know if that had anything to do with the color.

go with the wrinkle look unless you plan to dress up the engine a lot more with a tuck.

I've never seen the results of the krylon but vht always looks oem to me.

x2.. i passed with a jdm ecu.. Even the smog ref in sd said usdm or jdm as long as its a p13 ecu..

Yup, I also passed on JDM P13....if anything I would expect it to run cleaner with the j-spec unit than the usdm unit. Japan's emmissions are more strict than our's by far....

yeah but they run the motors rich and up here in wa you can't pass emissions with a car that runs rich. I think the same would be for cali seeing how they have the toughest emissions standards in the country.

OMG i passed smog today! woo hoo, i'll update my smog thread when i get the chance to really write what i found. JDM motor and JDM ecu man! it can be done!!!

I think my master cylinder is going out, I was on a hill and I pushed my breaks and cold feel it going down slowly. Also got new glass on the front and rear windshield cost me 400 bucks, but its worth it.
