this smog exception crap seems more of a headache than the under-the-table method. just have the car BARed and you should be good. that's the best LEGAL way to do this. the "loophole" talked about in honda-tech will be fixed soon. cops and analyzers are on honda-tech too!

the air boost valve is part of the vacuum line diagram of the motor, USDM motor. you will need it to pass visual. the refs are very strict on vac lines. you might as well just have it. it's pretty easy to install and you can use the accord unit. the intake tube, if you have an aftermarket or jdm unit, will NOT have the hole for the boost valve vac line so one will need to make a place for it. simple!

here is a pic of an EX/SE accord motor. see where the vac line of the air boost valve goes? the h22a motor's air boost valve is on the front of the manifold around the same area. the vac line goes in the same position. jdm motors just have that position blocked off.

since its blocked off, did you just make the other hole with like a drill or something, then knock out the little plate thats on there and tap and drill the holes?

DAMN thats a long ass catalytic i guess since we put bigger engines in our car we have to get bigger catalytic converters to pas smog

its the same displacement, just Nox and hydrocarbon limits are getting strict.. If your car runs clean, and you have a healthy cat, you should be good to go.. Jaime put a 40 pep boys cat on his car and it passed easily..
