My muffler is really messed up...(need help)

A week ago I backed into the street curb and my muffler was pushed in, so apart from it starting to fall off, the pipe was bent and now its extremely low. Whenever I have more than 4 people (thats including me) in my car the pipe itself scratches.

My question is, are there any shops near Alhambra that will fix or replace the pipes? I wouldn't mind keeping the muffler tip, I just want to get the pipe fixed so it won't keep scratching anymore. I'm not to sure how much this should be but I'm trying not to spend too much since all I'm getting currently from my job are disability checks and it isn't that much.

(I'll post pictures later so you guys can get a better idea of what I'm talking about)

any muffler shop should be able to fix this for about 60 bucks, this will depend on how much work and material is needed. just drive around to a muffler shop and ask for a quote

Oh, that doesn't sound so bad. Because the only problem it has is that my pipe is now in an " C " shape instead of being straight and its not that big of a "bend". Cool. Thanks, you made me not worry that much because I thought I was gonna spend 150+ or something.

Don't know much about the electro world.

Anyhoo, I was looking at simple switches at Radio Shack, and they were rated at like 3V or 6V, if I remember correctly. So If I want to install a fuel or spark kill switch by tapping into a wire, does it matter what the voltage rating is? My meager knowledge tells me that the battery is 12V, and all the wires on the car are rated in Amps. So I'm basically confused.

either you or radio shack are insane. 3 and 6 amps are common rating for switches but 3v just doesnt make sense. get a toggle switch to trigger a relay and you will be fine

x's 2. all you are gonna do is put a switch in and turn on or off. amperage rating does not matter. I am planning on putting a manual starter kill for my car. whenever I feel like touching my car though.

Help! Somethings F'd up with my car!

Ok my car is fucked up somewhere. I really have no clue what it is! So after work i was heading out to my parents house in the San Gabriel Valley where i work on my car from my Apt. on the Westside. The rattle in my exhaust became worse and then my car started to bog down and almost totally lose all power as i'm traveling on the freeway. I'm able to limp off the freeway and pull over in a strip mall to check my car. It seems to idle fine and creep forward normally but as i put my foot on the gas it bogs down heavily. I start limping home at 20 mph (top speed) and i try to gun it as i'm making a left turn at an intersection. All of a sudden i hear something POP followed by the sound of air escaping and my car suddenly has full power again. So i'm like WTF! My car actually seems to have more power than it's had in the past 4 years. I still have no idea what that POP was and can't see any lose vacuum tubes anywhere. If anyone has any idea what the hell it might be give me a PM.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! sounds like you had a clogged cat, or a muffler or something. But it is now fixed. good job.
