I've been thinkin about this for a loooooooong time but never got around to it and my car has the peeling clear-coat racing stripes on the topside to the back. Can anyone shed some light on recommended shops for a paint job with good body work and warranty? How much $$$ are we talkin bout here?

UPDATE: on the 2 door week one:

the car is now equipped with my wheels.
gerald ordered my alarm
bought new brake pads an rotors. (need help installing em)
Passenger side axle ready to be replaced just needs installation. (need help also)
DIY black grill with red emblem done
DIY black housing lights done
upgraded speakers
added a deck
custom short shifter
switched out the tail lights.

Yes I agree racing stripes are for the most part ***. The top coat of OEM paint has peeled in such a way that it makes it seem like racing stripes though. As for the paint job, I'm looking for some body work done(nothing too dramatic) just little bumps and dings that have accumulated throughout the years and nice work on the paint. I'm most likely gonna paint it the same color if not a shade darker (maroon color). I won't be doing the engine bay area. I was also debating whether to add some metalic flakes but I'm not sure about that part. I'm looking to spend a good 1-2g's on a good paint job.

if you dont find anyone that will let you borrow a air compressor, seriously consider harbor freight or home depot. Just buy it on your credit card, save the receipt, use the air compessor and air gun to do whatever you need to do, then take it back for a REFUND. just tell them it didnt do the job for you. They will refund you your money, and you didnt lose any money at all...... My neighbor bought a air compressor to paint his truck, he painted his truck, and then took it back the following week. Just ask them prior what is their return policy to make sure, but hey its something to consider....


I seriously dont know why you need a air gun, doesnt that buff asian dude sporting the muscle tank top live with you??? He should be able to torque 300 lbs. with those guns. "Take his guns to the gun show" haha.

for sure, thats a remote start isnt it? did you want that hooked up, im not 100 percent sure how to bypass the clutch switch but it cant be to hard being a 2 wire... anyway just be carefull of leaving it in gear, just the other day my coworker left his in gear and the car rolled all the way to the other side of the parking lot and onto a curb somehow not hitting anything! trade for 5spd swap parts?

anyway some jackass cut me off on the 805 onramp and i missed kissing their rear bumper by about a 1 crushed beer can gap! it just so happened chula vista pd was right behind me and saw the whole thing then pulled him over, get owned! ive been cut off easy a dozen times on that same on ramp (heading west from telegraph onto 805 north)
