Cam is a big event for Southern California and I think a mod for this section would care to have a thread everyone can find for more information.

Ralph is the only one incharge of that here, also there might not be a sticky or thread about this because most of the peeps are more active in facebook than here

yea..that is a good explanation. Ralph isn't a Mod on here so he can't make a sticky. The target group here would be the regional California area, not all the CB7 site. Some do and some don't do Facebook. Well if they don't know about it with a month to go....

Still no matter how much people you let know not everyone is willing to go anymore because tickets are sold out and people dont want to go and have to look for parking

Now I understand. Thank you...I too was upset about the fact that the spaces sold out too fast. Tells me either the location has no parking or not enough. Had I not bought a ticket early, I agree; I would not want the hassle of looking for parking and the long walk to the event. I would not attend. I got suckered into that once at Eibach. Parked at least a mile away and the walk was in the rain. (ok ..the cars there were cool).

Just glad I'll be one of the 20-25 lucky ones to park with a CAM ticket.
I think all the others should make sure their tags are current on car as the police will go up and down the streets looking as will be tow trucks! Something tells me there will be more cool rides to see Outside the parking area than inside.

And if you take a look at Google Maps in San Pedro where the event is held.....there is actually a good amount of parking close by. There is a neighborhood just across the street from the lot, and in the 2 times I have visited the location, there was ample parking (there is a park there as well, so there has to be a decent amount available). And this isn't an Eibach sized event.....we aren't going to have 10,000 people there, so its not like the surrounding area will be flooded with cars.

ok ..if there are More parking why isn't it utilized for the meet as paying spots? I'm sure with all the positive cooperation I saw listed with departments they could have been. Also 10,000 is a pretty large amount of people and cars. I went to both Griffith Park years and I would say maybe a few hundred showed...not thousands, and certainly not all at once. It would be awesome if in reality 10,000 showed up. And I do think it is an "Eibach" type of event. What other Accord event can us enthusiast go to during the year? This one Sold out in two days! I knew about it far advance but could only buy when it was announced...two days later ...sold out! So who lagged? I will be there and park in the "lucky" ticketed location. My heart will be in it and I will have fun. Just hope it is going to be the same for others without tickets that enable parking.

But more parking was utilized.....that is what I'm trying to explain.
Last year at Griffith Park, there were 110 spots available for purchase. This year in San Pedro, there are 160-165. That's a 50% increase in spaces. The reason they sold out so fast is 1) CAM is growing, and more people have found out about it over the course of this last year. 2) People that lagged in registering in previous years, did not make that same mistake again, and registered right away. Logical reasons why everything sold out in 2 days.
And I never said CAM had 10,000 people. I'm talking solely about Eibach, and how much of a pain parking was because of how big the event grew. And size wise, it will never be on Eibach's level. Its just not feasible with the amount of people in the Accord "scene." Sure, its the biggest Accord only meet, but relatively speaking, its still a very small meet. And logistically speaking, the setup this year is much better for a larger event. There is more space in the surrounding area for spectators too park....its not limited to the spots on the other side of the park, like last year. Also, this year is a closed off lot, so we won't have random park-goers try and drive through the event like last year.
As events grow, the setup has to change.....this year, because of the increase in size, a change of venue was necessary. With that change came a new layout, which I personally feel is more appropriate for the growth.Last edited by Corweena; 05-16-2014, 02:58 AM.
