Not sure where to post this...but this section seems to have a majority of the L.A. people on it.
I have asked this in the past and got replies from too far away. I'd like to stay LA/OC local and private :
Some of you may have seen Joe's coupe at Cam. He brought it there for two reasons. 1st was to see and get inspired by the others to move with getting it looking good. 2nd was to rally someone to do the super minor body work and paint. Not much on #2 happened
So I'm asking you guys who work on the CB's once again to come to his aid. He will if he has to, go to the shops on Sepulveda in the Valley. he has the bucks. But like me, he'd rather give the $ to one of you guys.
Body work consist of the front fenders bent and not even with doors. Paint would have to be same and entire car.

Have you tried out sourcing the fender? These things are cheap.

Wilson knows the story. He got me the connection for the fender and I got the bumper. That was a long time ago and the car was up in Santa Barbara and my son had no desire to repair it as he was mainly on a beach bike at UCSB. Now the fenders were either put on wrong or just bent...cause they are about ½ to 1" gap at fender to door and pushed in. I have no idea how to fix it other than taking them off and pushing them the other direction. Is that how?

I'm in BFE central Texas. I'll bet you could do it cheaper there. I would double check if the fender is off a 9091 or 9293 model as there are slight differences and also it appears the fender on the car currently was deformed in an accident. The easiest route would be to find a clean undamaged fender and respray it with primer a Honda color matched paint. It would be harder to bend the existing fender back into decent enough shape to fix bend in and overlap.

Just my honest opinion. I would start at the junk yards if it were me, being that you live in Cali there should be rust free options around right?

The accident back in 07 resulted from him poking the car too far into the street and another car hit him on drivers' side. Damage was to the fender, corner light and all of the divers tire and axle. All the stuff behind the tire was fixed.I pulled off the fender and the front bumper was replaced. Drove it without a drivers fende for awhile. Fender was obtained from a guy and was put on by friend. But in the course of time, the part of fender near door has slowly become bent inward. I don't think his frame is bent, but it could be slightly. I think I'll get that looked at before we go any further. Junk yards in L.A. are shit...people get to the good stuff first. I think the workers let them in before the public because they are friends.Always have shopping baskets filled with car parts. Cars on lot are 99% bare.

It would be much easier to source a new fender from the junkyard rather than paying the extra money to have the body work done. Unbolting the fender is cost effective in comparison to fixing one that is already bent.

Secondly, I feel that you're making this more complicated than what it has to be. You're in Southern California, there are paint and body shops everywhere. Have your son do research on paint and the reputation of each shop. Read on forums and other. Once he feels confident with a shop, he can move forward with it. First and foremost, don't pay a body shop till the work is done.

You saw it ..I think ..he brought it to CAM. Yea I know he could get it done in a thousand places here, but he doesn't really trust them that much. yeah your right..I'm making it too big a deal. I'm going to just remove the fenders and get new ones...paint them ...tape the car up and paint it too. LOL may even use a rattle can. done with this story!

You are making it a big deal. And it's not that we don't want your money, we are not professional painters nor body man. Heck, I can even do the job. It won't look good at all, but I can do it. I know you have a good sense of humor, but sometimes what you express can really make others not want to help. Trust me, I am in the automobile business, I know what it takes to make others return favors and help me out.

I would suggest what ralphie said and source out a clean fender from the junkyard and take it to a shop and have them respray it and paint match the hood. You may even have to take the car to a body shop and have them blend in the other side of the fender.

I thank you for your honest opinion and am not hurt by your post...no worries. I need to back down and see reality sometimes. Car is still running fine..and he brings the girls to places in it and does fine there too. So it's best to heed to what you and others say. I'm trying to convince him to spend the money at a frame shop. If it's bent..no reason to throw another fender till the frame is straight. The one bent is the new replacement! I will keep you posted...thanks...

(Greetings from No Cal ) From the picture posted, the reason the fender is bent in looks like its due to the door folding it in when its opened as its too close to the door.

My rx7, I bent a door hinge pushing it into my old parking spot after some no start issues, and when I closed the door, and reopened it, it bent the fender in the exact same way.

My recommendation would be a new fender, (if your not up the the task to repair the old one with a rubber mallet or the likes), and not mount it so it interferes with the door. The front fender tip should line up perfectly with the hood, where in the picture provided its set back some, and not aligned optimally.

Unfortunately the car was in an accident so it will most likely never be 100%, but 95% shouldn't be too far off with a little elbow grease and some measuring comparisons to the cars stock dimensions (which I think is posted and available somewhere on this board).

Thank you very very much for the post. I too had thought of this but could not say so in my mind.
After the crash and Joe driving home from UCSB (after the wheel was fixed) we removed the old dangled fender and got one from a source Wilson here found. My wife was in a convalescent and met a lady whose son was good at auto repair. So we had him put it on. I did notice the gap and he said it could be matched up due to the accident. I also think he is not that good at it. His mom passed as did my wife..so we don't talk that much anymore.
I think your assessment is dead on! So we will take the car to a frame place and see how far off it is. I'm going to say it's about almost 1½", in the engine the booster is very close to the power steering belt. Not a big gap but enough to maybe do like you said was done.
