MY son's 91 Coupe in Southern Cal needs a head gasket repair. I can't afford the 1 thousand asking from the shop, but I can pay almost 600-700. If you would like the job, and save a CB from junk yard ..and help a member who's mom just had her leg removed due to diabetes...he needs to keep going to see her in hospital, please help him by taking the work....PM ASAP (Free Magic Mountain ticket too!)

$1k is really high for just a head gasket replacement. Did it include a rebuilt head?

Hey Steve. Tell joe to start with recharging the system and add dye. Because there were no pressure in the system. If the pressure switch indicates that there isn't enough pressure, it won't kick the fans nor the compressor on. Start with that instead of taking it somewhere else and lose money for something I already diagnosed.

Was it the o rings? Just jump the pressure switch, if the compressor comes on then you most likely had a leak at the o ring junction. I know a place that fixed my AC for $100 and that included the leak fixed and recharged full. My AC was not converted. It's now ice cold AC. I just need to get rid of that moldy smell some times when it's humid outside.
If you want, give Radiator Depot in Garden Grove a call. He's very honest.
If you need transmission work, Santa Ana Transmission is great also, I got my Honda auto tranny fluid from him for $5 a bottle. He's also very good and the best in the area.
I only trust those 2 shops. I have no other shop to trust around here. I need my bearing replaced soon.

I USED. Envro-safe for my ac it worked, my ac was not working ended up being a fuse for the ac compressor clutch

AC not blowing cold can be multiple of problems. It can be easy as a blown fuse to a PCM problem. I know with your guys experience it was what you guys say, but his sons car was completely out of refrigerant. And what the heck is a ac bypass relay switch?

I think, if the system is totally out of freon, then there's a leak some where. Though it is a close system, freon could leak slowly over time but this would cause a low freon level so the compressor won't kick on. But completely out is a leak. Well he could put die in the system when refilling the gas. This should tell if there's a leak. The switch I was referring to the pressure switch. Bypassing it will let the compressor comes on when freon pressure is low. Sorry, I should have been more clear.

It's algood bro. I knew what you were trying to say, just wanted to make sure. But no worries. I already told Steve and his son about it, so it's up to them how they want to deal with it. Only thing that sucks is that I live about a couple hours away from them.
