Cell phone ticket - To fight or not?

    Is it worth the battle?
This ticket cost me $169 in total including fees.
Basically i held the phone up to my ear for 1 second, saw a cop then put down the phone and got pulled over.
He asked me do I know why he pulled me over, I played dumb. Then received a yellow piece of paper.

This is my first ever ticket (not including fix-it tickets). So i've been told to postpone it once or twice, then go to court and hope the cop doesn't show.

If you're wondering it was in the City of Alhambra.
    Any advice guys?

I'm a hardcore proponent of enforcing the "take what you earned" philosophy. That said, a lot of times just contacting the city in a timely manner and asking them what your options are is best. But I recommend not to call the cop a liar or say you weren't about to talk on the phone. Just say you know you were wrong and ask for ways to avoid the ticket. You have a very clean record so you look very good on paper.

Hey man go to court, can't hurt, may waste a day if your convicted guilty. Even if it takes all day to get rid of a $169 fine i would do it in a heartbeat. That is what my uncle whose a cop always tells me. If you know your guilty still go because they may lower the ticket or take the points off(depending obviously on the offense in question).

Judges aren't lenient on cellphone tickets. Just pay for it. I saw a few people in court who got cellphone tickets and they all had to pay the full fine.

You should have told the cop as he wrote the ticket "I see they got you working the big cases" haha

But in all seriousness you're screwed, just pay it, 169 isn't that bad, I just got cracked for 490 on a red light cam ticket.

Take it as a lesson learned.

That shitvis funny as hell Tony. Lol.

But for reals though, pay the ticket. It's your words against the cops. And Why waist a whole day being at court being found guilty?

                          Dude pay the ticket.

Even if you fight a ticket you gotta to pay before you appear in front of the judge and the cop, if the cop is there you're screwed and will lose, so either way you need to pay it the fine, but if the cop is a no show you when, but why gamle and waste time.

Take if from the court master, just pay and be done withit, now if you didnt do it and can prove then go for the case but you knew and played dumb but know this for next time own up to your mistake you may get off with a warning. Owning up works sometimes depending on the cops mood

I have more fix it tickets then driving infractions
