Socal: May 18-23

I am tentatively planning a trip to San Diego on these dates to see Markus Schulz(Trance Artist) play at Fluxx on Thurs. May 19. I am specifically planning this trip around this concert. I was wondering what else is there to do in San Diego on these dates. Are there any events that are going on? What is there to do on there? Id like to not get trapped into doing the touristy stuff unless its worth it. (I plan on going to USD if I get accepted)

Id like to check out the city and possibly rent a car and go to LA if its worth it to check out the USD and CalPoly-Pomona campus and surrounding area.

Suggestions?

sadly you might not get any responses on here. i would try honda-tech, and or nwp4life forums for better responses. but allow me to help you out.

i went to cal poly pomona for 10 years and i can attest to its programs. very practical, and many companies around the nation recognize the name (at least for engineering). USD is nice too, and i would suggest you take a look at the fields you want to pursue before making a decision. san diego is the center of socal in my opinion, not LA, and this is coming from a person who grew up in LA. i say this b/c LA is overhyped with hollywood, and SD has a much better diverse scene. this is mainly due to the naval/marine bases that surround it. weather, houses, women, san diego has it!

ok, so this trip is not happening on those dates anymore, but it is happening sometime at the end of may(before Memoiral Day) or after. Id like to Check out LA and SD while im there.

haha well you are more then welcome to hit me up when you come.
if you like art or museums there is balboa park, or can take a cruise through sunset cliffs (imma upload a better video this time so you can see it)
if you are driving up to LA and back to SD you have to drive the Pacific Coast Highway aka State Route 1, there is tons of shit to do here in SD, lots of sight seeing and the such

Thanks man. I will probably do that since Ill have a few days in SD with nothing to do except check out usd and the city in general.

As of right now Im planning on flying into SD on may 18-19, spending the weekend there, and then going to LA for the rest of the trip until Vegas for the weekend. Not sure how Im gonna get around yet, lol.

il be in the information booth if you visit on saturday, if not il be on campus most likely monday wednesday and friday and can meet with you and show you around a little..it would be better for me on friday..
