well, 5th time now being pulled over, for the same damn reason. my exhaust is too loud and its modified, plus my intake which is a joke... and on top of that, the one time i drive witout my wallet i get pulled over, twice in one night!!! i hav to go to a state referee to get my car checked for any illegal parts on my car, then ill get a ticket for each thing illegal. SO, i wanna swap out the intake and put the stock one back on, ill just find that at pick ur part, and i gotta take off my exhaust and put the old one back on for wen they check it. im so pissed... he wrote me down for illegal emmisions, no drivers liscense, and no proof of insurance. i hav no money or job to pay for this, i need to make this go away!!!

well I believe with your intake and exaust if you can prove they are smog legal, and are under the legal db for noise violation, then you can get it written off,and not have to pay. I know Joesue did that, and he should have more info on that. Driving without license and insurance are other issue's. License you just have to bring it to court and show them you have it, and get a reduced fee,think it was like 90 bucks, not sure how much though. No proof of insurance; if you have insurance then, just bring the proof to court,and you'll pay 100-200 bucks. If you never had insurance and was driving then your ass better get it asap, or it could cost you alot more than that.

show proof of your drivers license and car insurance and the fee should be atleast 10-20 bucks depending if they raised the price on court fees.
i got caught driving with an expired license the day after my license expired and while i was on my way to the dmv to renew my license. *well aint that some shit?*
i got popped because of my exhaust gave them a reason to pull me over (but they couldnt pop me for anything else because they didnt see anything illegal). so at the end they just got me for driving with no license.

I know the license and insurance can be excused after you show that you had it at the time of the violation. I believe jed is correct and the fine should be 10-20 bucks. well, the exhaust db test is tested on how loud your decibals are. meaning, how loud your low tone is. if your car sounds like a rice rocket and not that low of a tone, then you might pass. just like how they test the subwoofers, it's not how hard your system hits, it's how low of a bass your system really sounds, that's how they test your db's.
and if they got you for a illegal emissions, then most likely your car is going on the dyno for a smog test.
I have the stock components for the air box if u want to save money and just borrow it from me. I have no problems with that. If you do have insurance and it wasn't with you at the time, then you should be ok. if you don't, then I believe the fine went up to around 1200. as for your driver's license, if you show proof that you do have it, then the price went to 25 dollars now, not 10 dollars anymore. If someone is willing to give you an aem intake, with an aftermarket exhaust that does pass the sound testing, and your car does pass the sniffer on the dyno, you can actually fight the illegal emissions. as for your insurance, if you don't have insurance at all at the time of the citation, sorry to say, but you are screwed. the state don't mess around with no insurance anymore. they charge an arm and leg now.

wow ok where to start...
well, im screwed on the part where i need a stock intake and exhaust. ill hav to go look in my garage for my intake and hope its there. the whole exhaust part, i was thinking bout cutting the muffler tips off and putting a more OEM looking muffler, then later weld the old ones back on, or just keep the new one on. i still hav never heard of a carb sticker. and to put the cherry on top of this whole thing, once again last night goin to a party, my buddie and i were gettin ready to light up a bowl and the next thing i kno i see blue and reds in my mirror. so i tell my buddy to put that shit away we got cops on our ass. cop comes up to my window. showed him my liscense and told me my tint was too dark and that he doesn't like it wen he can't see me... lol but that my exhaust was too loud. shifting into 2nd at 2500! this is gettin real old too me now. like i kno the whole drill now its annoying lol oh but anywayz, i asked this cop some questions cuzz he was way more chill than the dick that pulled me over wit the ticket. i asked him bout wat a "carb sticker" is. he said, "a whhhaaaaaatttttttt???????"
i swear ive never laughed harder hahahahaha so we told him wat happened and said thats "bullshit ive never heard of that law/code b4", so we said thank you officer, and took off
