There is only a 3 to 4mpg difference on the freeway between the F22 and the H22. I have tested this by comparison driving 400 miles or more on a single tank of gas without even stopping for a piss break

mmmm...can we switch h22s cause mine sucks haha

do you mean a 3-4 mpg as in f22 is 24mpg and h22 is 20mpg?
              or
f22 gets 405 miles per tank and the h22 gets 401 per tank?

my h22 eats gas up the ass. 91 octane starting to average about 3.80 a gallon is killing me.

on a good day ill get about a lil over 200 on half a tank.

i would really love to put a 5th gear from an F tranny onto the H. I do alot of driving. i wouldnt need to be a 5th gear racer anyway, i normally dont reach 5th gear from a drag race or 5th on a freeway unless i wanna go past 110 mph.

what i think that also factors is the fact of stop and go which eats gas also.. i get better gas mileage on the freeway of course, but on the streets is what kills me the most.

do it! 5th gear is just overdrive anyways. so having it long is perfect to save gas!

The shorter gears of the H22 is not much of a factor in getting worse millage.

All freeway driving I got 33mpg with the F22, sometimes more. I got 29.5mpg with the H22. I wanna test this again since I've cleaned my egr ports/valve. I just need an excuse to go to San Fransisco or something lol.

The accelaration (I can't spell for shit) during stop and go driving is what consumes the most gas. And wind resistence (drag) from driving to fast on the freeway is more of a factor than the higher RPM's. When driving these long distances I kept the speed at 70mph or less.

Another thing is the outside temperature. When it's cold milage suffers.

If you want the f series gear ratio then just run a f series motor and tranny.. I personally would leave the gear ratio the same.. In my opinion you do the h swap with the intentions of gaining more Horsepower, yet 5-8 mpg is a big factor.. The only upgrade i would do to your tranny is getting a LSD Quaife.. If you decide to change the gear best of luck to you, But i think Honda has spent millions of dollars in R&D to come up with a suitable tranny/gear ratio for their motors.. Once again not Bashing. just giving my opinion..
