    Help me PLEASE! Parkland/Spanaway BRAKEPADS

Can't get the 17mm bolt off my Akebono Caliper!!

Bought new pads today for my front Akebono Calipers.

Tried to unbolt the lower 17mm bolt so I could just swing the caliper body up without having to remove the entire assembly from the rotor.

But the 17mm bolt will NOT budge, no matter how hard I try. My star socket is holding up, but the wrench seems like it will break. Possibly need more torque if I had a pipe to put over the wrench to extend the lever. But I think the bolt is starting to strip. No pipe available, no better wrench, and no bolt lubricant to try to get it loose.

Can somebody help me do it? I can offer a favor in kind. Anything.

    I can build simple websites.
    Create/draw graphics for any application.
    I can sew.
    I write/play/sing music/guitar/piano/drums.
I do custom anime and scifi models and toys (gundam, macross, ships, robots, transformers, etc..)
I can make custom shaped BIRTHDAY/WEDDING cakes like on the TV show ACE of CAKES on the food network.
I'll mow your lawn, take out the garbage, trim your hedges...anything.

PLEASE HELP! I don't want my rotors totally shot, and I have to drive my gf to the Puyallup Fair everyday because she's working there. It's really scary to brake when going down the hill to Puyallup. WIll someone help me please?

messege me and leave me your number or I'll send you mine.

Actually, on mine, oddly, both the caliper and the bracket bolts are 17mm.

Also, I have no idea what a pb is... is that "penatrating" bolt lube?

I'm hoping someone local would be willing to help me get this off in exchange for any of the above services I might be able to offer.

yea pb blaster is a penatrating lube....front or rear caliper? it dosent matter ethier way you just got get it off.... have you tried hitting the wrench with your hand? or are you just pulling on the wrench .... if it hurts your hand then get a hammer or put one wrench on top of another to get mor leverage

            they're front pads.

I don't have a breaker bar or pb or a pipe. The other thing I lack is any money whatsoever to buy any of those (waiting for next paycheck at end of month). I just used my last cash on hand to buy the pads. I can't drive the car much longer before rotor damage starts to happen if it hasn't already.

I'm hoping there'd be a friendly local cb7tuner person who I could drive out to who could lend me either a hand, some pb, a breaker bar, and/or a pipe to help me get this bolt off.

We could even make it a day of sorts, like a mini-meet or something. Once the bolt is off, shouldn't take long to replace the pads, then we could roll at Ruston Way or something.

Just hoping someone local might be able to lend a helping hand.

Man, guys, I gotta give some MAJOR PROPS and THANKS to Aarbug!
A true friend and lifesaver! He helped me out taking the calipers off BIG TIME! I couldn't have done it without him. I was originally just trying to get the piston bolt off the bottom to swing the caliper up, but Aarbug helped me remove the caliper bolts enitirely so we could take the whole assembly off the rotor. Aarbug is the man! It made it a lot easier to get those pads in. THANKS AARBUG!!

Btw, to anyone else who has yet to do this: invest in a good C-clamp to push the piston in. You really CAN'T do this DIY without one, easily.
