not sure you're posting in the right place... buuuut....
you CAN start a car without the starter, esp a manual, which only needs to be in motion to start (ever heard of a "rolling start" ?!)
but as for starter kills,
... the better you hide a kill switch, the less likely someone is going to defy it, say, it's wired so that you can only start your car if you hold down your hazard light button and turn your key at the same time -- that's just an example, but im sure you get my point - many people also have "dummy kills" that are hidden but are just there to fuck with the intruder as they dont ACTUALLY have any effect
if your car is an auto, you could also rewire your shift lock so that even if they got around a kill and started your car, they wouldn't be able to put it into drive without activating the right switch or whatever
- if you're that worried - that have the kill work to your alternator instead of your starter -- or disconnect your battery and lock your hood --
really its mostly creativity and a little bit of forethought
good luck

with an alarm you have a starter kill relay. basically a relay goes in place of the starter wire and all you have to do is either jump them back to eachother or power it 12 v momentary and then start the car.
alarms suck when someone installs it and shows every fuken wire so that it is easy to depict what is stock and what is not. when i install you see no difference and plus everything is hidden with black tape etc.
a starter kill switch is kinda cool....most common is a fuel pump cut off switch that you can cleverly rig up to anything or just a hidden switch. i done one before that the seatbelt has to be on for the car to start heheh.
there are also other alternatives if you want to get more high tech, like the dude said earlier about the shift interlock switch...you can put a switch for it but only start the car by like pressing the brake or like tapping the horn etc.
there are soo many things you can do but mostly will only delay them cuase if they know your car they can bypass things pretty fast, especially after that siren wire for the alarm is cut.
i think most effficent and cheap method is taking out the ecu fuse lol! What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.
You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

heres a pic of a starter kill relay http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/fbody/Relay5.JPG
what you do is cut the factory starter wire from the ignition harness and put it into a relay. normally the starter wire is connected when it runs through the relay. when you arm your starter kill it flips the relay and it disconnects the wire. so all a theif would need to do is find this relay, cut it out and reattach the starter wire.FA1

and, i might add, first and foremost you should cut off your trunk release by your driver's seat -- even if someone isnt breaking in to steal your WHOLE car, its really easy to break the factory lock on that and your better off just trashing the lever altogether

well this is my 2 cents,
if a person wants your car or contents bad enough, they will take it. case in point, i had a 81 lude, but she was mint. was in the middle of doin a carb swap on her. she was down for a week. sat right outside my bedroom window. on the fourth day came out to go to work, found someone or one's had stolen my car. not even a f'n carb on the mani. they towed it away.
my suggestion is to just get a nice alarm (you allready have one) with all the "cool guy" optionz. then do what i did, get LO JACK. lowers your insurance. and they can locate your car with in seconds. low monthly charge. i pay around 20 bucks a month.
but like i said. this is just my 2 cents.

Another option would be to the door front door handle to rear conversion.
Basically instead of shaving the key cylinders you can just get a set of rear door handles and thus eliminate the key cylinders (very effective and gets style points teh hawt)
When it comes to dealing with a manual though , kill switches wouldn't do you any good.
You can always disable the engine altogether. By unplugging or rigging a switch for the small engine computer in the engine bay (drivers side cant miss it).
I used to unhook mine all the time..although it would reset the fuel pump it was effective lol.Henry R
