In japanese there is no ABCD etc. we have hiragana and katakana... we use Kanji as well which is borrowed from the chinese. One character sometimes can mean a full word rather than 1,2,3+ characters for the same thing.
The japanese "alphabet" would look like this in "romanji" (japanese->english alphabet form)
A I U E O
Ka ki ku ke ko
sa shi tsu se so
ta chi tsu te to
na ni nu ne no
ha hi fu he ho
ma mi mu me mo
ya yu yo
ra ri ru re ro
wa o un
This is just the basic but there is a few more character sets using the same characters with special "o" periods or two "slashes" to make different sounding characters. for instance up above the "t" character set.
ta
chi
tsu
te
to
In japanese form if two tiny slashes were added above the character it would make the equivalent to roman "d" sounding characters.
ta ----> da "daw"
chi ----> ji " jee"
tsu ----> zu "zu" "zoo"
te -----> de "deh"
to -----> do "doh!"
In japanese this is how hiragana or katakana "M" sounding characters sound
ma = ma like in "hey ma whats cooking"
mi = pronounced like "me"
mu = pronounced like how a cow sounds
me = "meh"
mo = "mo" like "Mo money mo problems"
So something like Accord broken up in romanji would be "a-ko-do" With japanese it's sometimes hard to spell english names and convert it to japanese (well in my experience) My japanese name is "Jiro" means middle child. My last name "sanders" gets really hacked. It turns out sa-un-da-su(saw-nn-daw-su) which doesn't really sound like how it should sound.
The way I try to spell or convert japanese to romanji is to say it out like how a native speaker would say it. Like DRIFT wouldn't be converted to romanji in fob form like Derrriffft. Broken in japanese syllables it would sound more like do-ri-fu-to. In japanese there is like no "L" equivalent....instead "L" would be replaced by a "R" equivalent. If you know someone thats a native japanese, take notice on how hard it is for them to say something like "lettuce". Lettuce would come out sounding like Re-taw-su.
I hope this helps a little.... so yeah it's "moo-gen"Last edited by Kurobei; 09-29-2006, 05:15 PM.I need a custom turbo manifold built....
