Got it Bar'd 2 years ago. It was funny because I had failed smog trying to get it Bar'd 4 years ago. Ended up getting it smogged somewhere else without BAR. Then when I went back to the Ref 2 years ago to try again, they just put the BAR label on the car after passing the visual. I was then free to take the car anywhere I wanted to smog it. I think the Ref's smog machine was down that day or something.

nowadays you only need to pass the visual and then a lot of other people hot smog it.

Yeah it's only money lol. But one time I tried to smog my car with an aftermarket cat, and I got the same damned failed readings as my original 15+ year old cat. Even the tech said my cat was going out, and he didn't know it was a new aftermarket cat. I think it was a ebay magna flow or whatever. Junk.

Smog now a days are less strict, especially BAR. Its due to budget cuts so they dont give much of a fuck. Its really easy right now to pass a car through BAR. Of course dont leave anything obvious.
