Only JDM music for me or pre 00' and oldschool slow jams. Don't get me wrong, I listen to some Bay Music...but i'm not deep into it like you are. Japan is someone getting westernized but I still think Korean artists have a better grasp at replicating the style,theme and beats at the moment. Some popular Korean artists sing/rap Japanese as well and are very popular in Japan right now. Sadly NAS and a respectable few other artists and beatmakers sometimes make guest apperances in Japanese music videos which is pretty cool. Sometimes I play that music in my car and my friends are like the beat is tight but wtf are they saying? I tell them oh don't you recognize the backup singer thats blah blah featuring Jin.
I think you should get in touch more with your kinda musika. I never hear you bump Pinay or how 'bout some Innerlude or One Voice? they are Bay Area artists....not too much hyphy but still Vallejo based. One of the One Voice girls was in my Geometry class when I was going to Solano back in the day and I didn't realize it! I went to get my cd autographed and she was like HEY! i recognize you! I was like "yup" "yup" Imma celebrity biJeZz to the other guys flockin the table.
