Don't take my this the wrong way but just tryin to watch your back. Thats hella clean and I was going to do the same thing back in the day with 2k Si decals...however you might be asking to go see the ref. I've had two friends with swaps that got sent to the Ref and it's not fun at all.

If I were you I would wait on the decals and REF your car first then you can safely put those on without having a know it all import cop sending you to the ref. Some cops know what came with v-tec or not...especially CHP and the asian cops in the 707 area.

I have a friend named Kevin that went to my school with a CB7 that had a auto h22a and got popped right outside the Solano mall signal light by curious CHP. The cop was asian and pulled him over because he was curious. Exact words were.

"So you have v-tec?" Lemme see wuchu got under the hood." Kevin opened his hood and the cop played dumb and said. "So is this the original engine?" (kevin tries to play dumb.

"Well I bought the car fixed up so I'm not sure whats orignal or not" The CHP officer then said...

"Well I hate to say this but whoever sold you this car probably sold it because they couldn't pass smog. You have an illegal engine swap because your car doesn't have any proof that says it's been B.A.R'ed."

Kevin was working part time at and going to school full time and afford to go through the trouble of swapping his engine back out and wound up registering the car as un-op and drove his parents corolla.

Just a warning...... you might attract a curious cop or intelligent one to see if you are a true ricer just putting vinyl decals on your car or being legit.

You don't want to end up like my friend Kevin or my friend Mike coz your car might sit for awhile if you can't afford to get the F22 swapped back or make your car legit BARed under the short time frame they give you. The fix-it ticket isn't too pretty either....it's not like having a fix-it ticket for blue bulbs.

Keep it a sleeper man! Don't announce to the world you have a swap. Keepin it a sleeper is especially fun with civics, integras, or preludes coz they don't know what the fuck jus happened when they see the accord kicking their ass in a race.

Oh nevermind make that 3 people I know that got popped. My co-worker with a 03 civic got popped for his K20-R swap.... He had so many DMV fees and problems with that car trying to get it all legit that he just said fuck it and sold it to some kid for $6000. Now that kid can't even get it legit and his parents are mad at him for buying the car. My friend didn't do him dirty and told him whats up with the car but he was too power hungry to even hear him out and was just thinking K20R i'm going to be fast!!! He got popped coz his car had I-Vtec badges and K20 decals on his car.

Regular smog Ref or Bar ref? JDM H22A auto is an automatic instant fail...it cannot pass BAR legit unless he has a hookup...coz I only know of 2 Auto H22As that magically got BAR stickers because either they knew the ref or they plain and simple didn't know what they were looking at and missed a few things.

JDM H22A auto won't pass visual for 3 reasons.

                  1) because there is no OBD1 US auto equivalent ECU and to pass bar you need to run the US ecu not JDM. Auto H22a didn't start till 97 OBD2 preludes.

                  2) Another reason why it won't pass is because the intake manifold is different too. You need the purge valve (blocked off on jdm manifold or non existent at all and needs to be tapped)

                  3) A Blackbox line which needs to plug into the intake manifold isn't there either and needs to be fabricated if your still going to use the JDM manifold.

I spent about $480+ at Openloop in Frisco thinking I was going to get a legit pass (coz they supposed to know someone) but unfortunately that ref didn't work at the location anymore. All I got an instant Visual Fail upon the hood being opened because of it being Auto. Bar Refs don't even need to know the car fully to fail you on visual because they will have a Honda manual for a accord and prelude and compare to see whats hooked up etc. and run your ECU serial to see if it's JDM or not.

Lol I actually have one like that. I let my friend borrow my spare valve cover I bought from a member on this board and he grinded it off for me. I was going to use that as insurance when I was running around un-Bar'ed. I got the idea from DrLuvs car as his old CB7 had a shaved Valve cover.

I never even actually put mine on since I crashed my last CB7 and it's sitting in my garage with a new headgasket kit looking pretty. Honda had issues with OBX copying their parts and now their valvecovers are being stripped of the raised V-tec letters and are good to go just like that.
