Well it's now been 3 years that I arrived in Philly to go to grad school. At that time I didn't know anyone at all here, but could recognize some of the names on this forum. It took me some time before I could attend my first meet here, but it was a good decision. Everyone was friendly and very welcoming to a stranger that they didn't know personally. Over time I went to many more meets and made more friends here. I really felt like I belonged. Thankfully going to meets helped turn my 3 years feel like 3 months. If anyone is on the fence about attending a meet whether it's here in the Northeast or anywhere for that matter. Go! It's much more than showing off your car. It's about meeting the people, networking and sharing laughs. We were all new to meets at one time, but that changes.
My times finally up and time for me to be a "stranger" in another spot (Atlanta).
