I lucked out.

I found a matching car to mine at U-pull, U-pay. Same color, correct bumper, and a drivers side mirror that wasn't assembled using Gorilla tape. I was quoted $130 for the lot, last Sunday. However I was nearly broke last Sunday too!

Today I went back with cash in hand. Expecting to see the hood folded backward over the roof. Thus only planning on the bumper and mirror. But to my surprise it was still all there. Minus the bumper blinkers All they charged was $114!!

The Hood is WAY better then my previously folded, and unfolded, one. Not having 3"x5" missing chips, with rust forming is ugly. BUT this is a NON-CAPA hood, with an obvious low cost paint job. 1000% better then before and worth the $50, but obviously not OEM!

Once I find those lights I'll switch the bumper, but I did the hood in the salvage yard parking lot, then got my core back.

I feel SO accomplished today. LOL

Well, my swap is finished. I'm just waiting for Honda to get a heater hose in so I can pour the coolant in and start it up. So Thursday morning I'll begin diagnosing CELs, lol.

I'm celebrating by taking it up Pikes Peak and Mt. Evans in one day, once I'm sure it's running smooth. Got a set of very lightly used BFG all-seasons for just $80, so I'm plenty good on that front!

We should do a group meet/drive in the next couple months. Who is/isn't running a CB right now?

Anyone else getting this awesome hail? I was walking home when I started getting pelted and ducked under a tree. I was all ready to wait it out when my sister called. 8 years in South Dakota... plenty of tornado scares but I've never been in anything this epic.


ED. - tried to start it up today and she sounds ready, aside from the expected hard turnover. But because of a 7.5" gap in the exhaust (short dp, I think it's off an OBD2 car) it sounds like a top fuel dragster and smokes some horrible fumes like none other. Looks like I'm waiting until at least Saturday for a friend to come over and close the gap before I want to try starting it again.

I live nowhere near you but two weeks ago we got some nasty hail and tornado sirens going off and I got trapped in my car outside a store as marble sized hail annihilated stuff. Dented up my hood even worse than it was

A friend at work said the iron door on his barn was thrown off and a couple car windows broke. Must have been worse outside of town, we got the heavy marble sized hail but my parents' cars are fine.

Power gets down fine, i dont have much slipping really. The problem is getting it into second and third gear. Transmission is pretty screwed and needs a rebuild asap.

avg runs for the day was 12.5s

That run at about 8:00 looked excellent. How often are you doing internal engine work with this kind of abuse?

been using the same bottom end for two years now with absolutely no issues. Head is 1 year old.
