My coupe was an Automatic just like my new SE is. I too don't care if I have insane HP. I'm more into the handling. Being in Colorado, those mountain roads NEED to be tamed! LOL

Pretty much the same with me. I want a simple yet aggressive look, only I want balls-out cornering capabilities and don't care so much for power. You debating which engine to boost or what? I'd go with the 23V for the uniqueness, but that's me. If my F22 hadn't given up on me, I'd be saving up for a genuine H23A VTEC, or even an F20B, instead of the H22A. No regrets, but it sucks I can't spend time gathering all the odd parts I'd need to put in what would have been in my opinion a more interesting engine to own.

Yeah i really just want power and looks, a good balance of both. The turbo parts are tempting but IDK if i'd want to risk blowing the f22. I could go for a simple 10 pound set up on a chipped p06 with some 550cc and up injectors with the stock internals and of course ARP's and what not.

I just don't want to spent too much on it because i want to get a newer car in the next few months. Like a TL Type-s or TSX. Idk 350Z's are tempting too.

FWIW:

tiger japanese imports sells the F20b longblocls for ~$770 shipped.....

There are also 2 versions, an auto version with around 180 hp (due to smaller cams and Tbody), and the manual version with around 197 hp (type s cams and a roughly 60mm tbody). Both engines are competent, but make sure you aask for a manual version.... and theyre also quite rev-happy, with many people taking them north of 8k rpm and dyno well over 200 WHP with minor bolt ons such as I/H/E/tune....plus, no FRP cylinder linings, so piston options (although the engine isnt available in the US) are likely more readily available.

BUT, there are a few minor details regarding the swap into an obd1 car, and being as theyre obd2b and japanese/european only, there are some oddities regarding wiring and engine management, but physically, its the same dimensionally as an H22. Def do your research!

I had planned on doin an F20B in my integra as an H2B, but have since decided to let it be, get a bike and have some fun that way. Im too old lol

Just shy of a month until my planned date to order my H22 and my BMX, my only mode of transportation, craps out. The crank and rear hub sections are toast and my legs are bloody in several spots. I'm walking the next month. Hour and a half round-trip to work. I don't even have a cool stunt to brag about, the parts just finally failed, chain popped off, and I got dragged several yards in superman stance, all tangled up in the pedals

should go down to the fort collins bike co-op and pick up a new bmx. you can bargain with them and get a decent bike for under 50$


On another note- i got my boost issues fixed, somehow my ecu turned off the boost map so i was running on the NA map which was preventing me from going into boost. so finally got my first highway 4th gear pull since my dyno session and OMFG, this car is dumb, scary fast. I pegged my speedo (somewhere around 155)- good times

Thanks for the offer, Carbon but it's cool, I don't mind walking. A big reason I bike so much (almost two hours a night, work travel aside) is because that kind of activity works wonders for stress relief and general relaxation for me. I was already looking into ordering a new bike after the swap, it just sucks my luck is so bad.

no its the stock f22 gearbox with a limited slip. difference is that i am redlining at 8300rpm
