Use an OEM head gasket (honda brand). go with any other company for the rest of the goods.

Personally, i wont use anything other than genuine honda parts for head gasket and tbelt. they are the two of the most important things on the motor.... think about it.

Well, I did decide to go with the JDM H22A swap (for a minute I almost went with the F20B; cooler to have, but that swap looks like a big headache), thanks for the suggestion, nostringz. It would definitely be smarter to get a known good engine from a company with a reputation for quality such as HMotorsOnline than just another car with another worn out F22. I can always get a coupe further down the road, parts are easy enough to swap from one CB to another. That'll be in my MRT when I eventually see fit to make one... future plans to include a coupe swap

But anyways, I started collecting parts in preparation for the swap tonight (NGK G-Power plugs and wires). I prefer Advance Auto, I like the older guys that work there at night. I'm in there so much I got an employee discount tonight! $7 saved is $7 saved, I suppose, eh?

Rough budget plan written up, I should have everything by about mid-January. The engine will be the last thing I order so the warranty's not wasted. I'm fine with biking til then.

Great, your welcome to help with my swap so you can get warmed up. Justin will be there too. Will be happening soon, will let you know

F just realized thieves got my H&R coil-overs too. I hope I can resist killing anyone I catch stealing from me.

I know how you feel Old School, I would still like to find the bastards who stole a bunch of parts and tools from me a couple of years ago. Those people need to get a life, and actually earn something for once. Sorry for the rant again guys, but things like that really Erk me.

Im down to help you if its cool. I need to get myself warmed up to install my H23 once i find a Vtec Head. It should just be plug and play right?
He Justin, that H23 wasn't Vtec

oh well i still bought it for 125 bucks. Valves bent because a couple teeth on the Timing belt where completely gone. It still had the Honda timing belts

Thing looks pretty new from the inside!

turbo90, where did you get that huge harness connector you have up at the firewall? Since my car is just going to sit for a few months, I figure I'll get started on a wire tuck, at least taking care the non-engine circuits for now. That one line you have running to the engine on the passenger side really does clean things up. Maybe I can mount mine lower down for an even cleaner look.

Anyone going to bandimere tomorrow? going to be a good time! Brent from PFI is finally going to get to take his proFWD 1100hp civic on the track. a car designed to run 7's!

                          Cyborg,
I dont suggest delving into the milspec connectors. the tool for crimping alone cost me 430$ and said and done with pins, housings and connectors cost me around 600$. I can make you a harness just like mine (my new one that is all milspec and all OEM colors.) for around 500 since i have the tools and wire to do it allready.

you cannot use regular crimpers, i tried at first but wires then dont fit into the housings or fall out of the terminals.

Yeah... that much is not worth it for me. I enjoy this kind of detail work too. I find it calming, almost zen-like.
