Neither ball joint would budge, no matter how much they were hammered on. The bolt for the fork in the shock tower was removed, and the upper a-arm was dropped via the two bolts in the engine bay. Old tranny's out and I've got tomorrow off work, so hopefully I'll be driving in 24 hours. Sucks I cant rake care of the bearings now.

Yeah, I'll take the knuckles in to have the bearings pressed... whoever's cheapest. I do appreciate the help, guys, thanks!

The service manual's saying the torque converter has to be marked with the drive plate for proper alignment upon reinstallation, so should I just keep the stock unit in place? Would there even be a difference between the F22 and H22 tc's?

The f and h converters should be the same check the part numbers just to be safe also just make sure the 10mm bolts for the flex plate are torqued to spec and in order also wouldn't hurt to add some lock tight to the threads it would be a shame if they came out after all that work lol good luck and for the knuckles I would just do ur ball joints, brakes, and bearing all at once less work less money later ya feel me

Success! New tranny, alternator, and torque strut are in. The shifts really rock the car, especially going into Drive at a stop. I'm experimenting with no power steering and so far I'm not liking it. Maybe it's just 'cause I'm aching all over, extremely greasy, and generally feel like crap. I'll take it into the mountains before deciding to keep it or not. The car seems to understeer more now as well, and I've got near brand new Falkens on the front.

Going forward, my plans are to get a distributor on Thursday, then begin buying parts and tools to prepare for an H22A swap. General maintanence along the way include replacing the ball joints, and of course wheel bearings. I was planning on getting a complete suspension bushing kit from Energy Suspension when I go after that side of the project, but it may come sooner rather than later, if only as preventative maintanence.

250hp is pretty easy to achieve with a turbo. with a manifold and turbo as well as a tune id say for a really good setup 2k but it can be done for 1000 or so.

yeah i was looking to throw down like 1000-ish on a decent reliable setup. I was reading about DSM setups, but im not too fond on how the look in the engine bay(well the ones i seen look ghetto fabricated) but they do produce power right so i heard?

well if anything i now want to run a 14g (or 14b i forgot) on 10-13 PSI as a DD would this be reliable? i think DSM is the way to go for me, i just read up on some good info.

A big 16g would be a better option. you can get your horsepower goal with less boost pressure. a smaller turbo at 13 psi creates too much heat.
