Ugh, I actually resorted to posting a bit on Honda-Tech to get my fix! Some overnight H22 parts from Japan arrived the other day:
- Valve cover gasket kit
- OEM timing belt
- OEM balance belt
- OEM a/c belt
- OEM water pump
- OEM oil filter (x2)
- OEM thermostat gasket
- OEM Civic "DOHC VTEC" 1/4 panel sticker (x2)
- OEM lower radiator hose
Ordering some internal oils seals, as well as some completely useless things, this weekend too. After that, I just need the motor mounts and fluids, then I can finish saving for a February H22A.
Would gaining about 50-75 ponies at the crank on a 197bhp H22 be terribly difficult via natural aspiration? Cams (Bisi level 1 or 2), intake (SRI + tb + mani), exhaust (full 2.25"), a tune... shouldn't be tall order, right? It seems a waste to get boosted for such a small gain.Last edited by CyborgGT; 11-09-2010, 07:46 AM.

Oh, and for the battery relocation. Is it enough to ground the engine/tranny to the body of the car and ground the battery to the trunk floor, or do I need to run the tranny ground wire back to the battery as well? I need power to the fuse box and the starter, that's a lot of thick wire to run.

Id run a larger ground from the tranny to the body. I also suggest doing a second ground from the intake manifold to the firewall.
Running all that wire is why i decided to not mount it in the trunk. plus for drag racing you will also have to have an nhra approved battery box and a kill switch.
I opted to hide my battery behind my bumper where the intake resonating chamber used to be.
gaining that much HP naturally aspriated at our altitude would be extremely difficult and very costly.

Yeah, I noticed all that space down there, too. Trouble is, I don't yet have my own welder to do any real fabrication. I'm sure I can find some way to tuck all that wiring. This is becoming a great practice car.
Your downer-ness has motivated me. I'm going to see just how close to my goal streetable all-motor can take me. "Puh," I say!Last edited by CyborgGT; 11-09-2010, 06:13 PM.
