Well atleast u actually are using ur bike rake. Unlike 90% of these dudes out here that buy a rack and throw it on their shit just cuz they think it looks tight and wanna follow a trend. That shit is wack as hell.

i hate when people say "Well I'm JDM because i have a Honda but you have a Subaru so.....yeah!"

I have a dude at work that said that i was like wtf these people are SO misinformed.

GUESS WHAT?! I decided to close my IAB and put a Vacuum on there and sumbitch takes off A LOT faster that when i had it hooked up to my plenum. That alone makes me want to hook up the IAB solenoid. Sum bitch chirps the tires in 2nd!

Couldn't you chirp any manual just by dumping the clutch? A friend of mine used to have a Festiva (had a sick ass can made out of a fire extinguisher, but that's another story) and could get it to do some pretty mean burnouts. I've chirped in second with my auto, but then my tires were pretty bald. I've been driving it like a manual for so long now, I need a real one.

I know it's Jap, but Subaru has always seemed more of a Euro brand to me. Mitsubishi a bit, too. They've been too prevalent in rallying, and not just the Evos and STis.

Existentially yes if you dump the clutch tires should chirp. But i never really tried it for i was too afraid i'd fuck something up. But i wouldn't of been able to do it as well if the IAB's where open.

Well its kinda the brand that was made in Japan but since some people just follow trends they think "oh JDM is Honda and well your subie doesn't fall in that category nor does your Mitsubishi". Everything is mis-categorized on the internet even on Ebay. I tend not to rain on people parades when they say shit on Japanese cars and the whole JDM thing because i don't know everything on Honda's and Nissan's etc. But i got the gist of things and well these people need to hop on forums and learn something at least.

I don't have any personal experience with other brands' tuning communities but (nit-picking here, sorry - I do get your point 100%) it does seem like the Honda crowd is the only one that really embraces our "JDM" motherland. Maybe Nissan slightly, with the 240SX/Silvia.

Off topic a bit, but here's another wierd tuning commodity I've noticed: Impreza (as well as a couple other Subys... I followed one hell of a lifted 2nd-gen Forester down Pikes Peak) owners very often embrace their rally origins, whereas the Evo tuners seem more to follow the stereotypical import-tuner style. I've seen maybe 4 or 5 Imprezas, ranging all across the first two chassis generations, decked out like WRC cars. One guy I talked to in the parking lot of the store I work at even had the interior shelled and caged. The guy was maybe in his 40s and claimed he used to actually race it. I've never once seen a Mitsubishi do anything like this, it's sad.

Speaking of Pikes Peak, here are a few of the shots I took at the Hill Climb as seen from Devil's Playground, the best seat in the house, you can see so much of the road. Hopefully I'll be able to get the video up soon

First, some scenic shots of the course. After seeing all this in person and climbing it myself, I now really want some significant gains in power. At least gobs of torque so I'm not crawling up this thing. On the other hand I'm not so keen on lowering the car too much anymore. I do hit some nice bumps and dips in the canyons closer to home, and bottoming out is one of my bigger concerns. I will be back outside of the races for sure, this is one incredible piece of road. Sure the dirt makes for fun-to-watch rally-racer drifts, but I can hardly wait until it's completely paved. I've heard rumors of 2010 being the last year with the gravel bits!

Rhys Millen, in his Hyundai PM580. Ran a 10'39, or somewhere thereabout

Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima, in a 910hp (3.1L twin-turbo V6) Suzuki SX4. He was the favorite to finally beat 10 minutes but managed 10 seconds slower than his 2007 time of 10'11

I think the only close drive-by shot that didn't turn out blurry. It was my first time really getting to know a DSLR camera and spent most of the event (aside from the couple hours I slept... friggin' missed the Porsche GT3 Cup's run) experimenting with a couple different lenses.

Makes me want to buy a Celica just so I can slap one of these body kits on and run around town. I love the stance as well.

Choosing tires has got to be one bitch of a decision, when you're switching back and forth between potholed gravel and smooth tarmac over the course of twelve and a half miles. Meaty!

Now compare these drive tires to the ones on that last Mustang... ?!!

The sexiest Z I've ever had the pleasure of laying eyes on? Mmmmmm, I think so!

Now I'm waiting for my first Concours, which was delayed to August 8th because of all that rain we had in the middle of June.
