Any cheap (but good) gem cars for sale?

I'm going to be in the market for a cheap (but good) car. King James may sell me his Civic but I wanted to see what else was available.

Also this civic has been very reliable for me.....Driven it about 15000 km since July and Ive had zero problems.....and it now has winter tires on it so its amazing even in the snow

Well we don't NEED a car for a few months and probably even longer. I'm starting my job on Monday and it's located in my building so I don't need to go very far. I do want to buy a car though in the future.

Right now I'm just looking to see what's available in the $1000 or less area.

When are you planning on selling your Civic?

What's a good budget for a cheap reliable car then?

The civic is always for sale.....I just would need a few weeks to find another car if I were to sell the civic....or if its gonna be the summer time Id need a week or two to get the cressida rebuilt....and since I need a car for work I cant sell this then go on hunt for a car....Id need a replacement in place before I can sell.....so thats why I say when your ready just give me 2-3 weeks advance warning so I can get all my ducks in a row.

Honestly for a cheap, reliable car the civic is fantastic.....Its literally given me no problems since I fixed it up and my asking price would be right around your budget.....but to go buy one off some random dude (realizing I am essentially random as weve never met) for 1000 bucks you could get a gem....or you could get a headache.

This civic actually was a huge headache when I first bought it.....but after replacing the engine and fixing the other few things wrong with it its been a gem....since july and 12000 km the only money ive put into is winter tires and oil changes.

I dont think your gonna want a car that youd have to put work into....so a more realistic budget would be 2500-3000.....I say that because generally for that price you can get the car saftied and etested so then you know when you take it over it should be good to go.

That price window makes sense especially because I'd like to use the car to visit PA every now and then.

I start working on Monday and I need to save up. We're still waiting on about $5,000 to come in from Japan. Maybe when that happens we can afford to buy. We shall see.

At this point, I think buying your Civic is my best bet... which is sweet

Didn't you say it would cost $300 to $1000 to import your Accord from PA? If so I'd just do that. If not there is I guess James's car. There are Accords on Kijiji, but for $1000 or less most of them need some type of work.

Yeah, I think at this point if I can't find a known reliable car for $1000 or less then I'll just import mine because I can't imagine it'd cost more than $1k to import. I was estimating about $700.

I would like James' civic though. I think I'll try to get through winter without a car and then buy in the spring. I think James was saying that'd be easiest for him anyway.

And James, I may not know you personally but I know you're a good, dependible guy. I really do appreciate your willingness to drive to Peterborough to check out my apartment while I was in Japan. Not a lot of people would do that and I also remember that I owe you a case of beer

If you buy sometime around the end of March-early April that would be perfect for me....I get paid 3 times in March so instead of just getting the cressida to working order I may be able to 1j and r154 it with the help of the civic money.

I gotta take care of my cars since if I break down or anything It a) screws me out of money cuz i cant work and b) if it happens on my way to work it gets me in major shit.

i hear that. i always take care of my car because i normally travel in it often. 400-500 mile trip every few months would be nice
