Alberta members, I need help!!

I am looking for a member that is close to Banff to be exact. My son is living and working there and the clutch cable broke on his car. Banff being a tourist trap doesn't leave much room for shadetree mechanics, in fact there is no where to get a car fixed. I'm on PEI so I can't be of much assistance. If someone could help or knows of someone that can, please PM me. His car is crippled now and it's a shame, we drove it across Canada in May 08 and it was trouble free. TIA

Thanks King James. He doesn't know anybody that has a backyard garage or that works on cars in Banff and as far as I know the nearest Service Center would be in Camrose and the repair cost would be more than the car is worth! If your buddies can help that would be appreciated!! Hope to be in touch! Also the 3 hr time difference doesn't help.

Hi Alex,

I really think if your son picked up a Haynes manual and a clutch cable from the internet, he could replace the cable himself. Its very easy. All he need to do is get underneath the front dash and everything is there.

He would need only a handful of tools and a little patience. He could save a bunch of money and get use to working on the car...who knows, maybe he'll catch the modifying bug. :P

Thanks guys. It was just a thought. Getting the car to a repair shop, plus the cost of repairs would be as much as the car is worth!!!LOL He can do some small stuff but I don't know if changing out a clutch cable is in his abilities. He is in the hotel business and they would shit if he showed up to work with dirty hands.LOL! I will try to coach him thru it.
