man they really need to make a track here. i live in the silicon valley, and im not sure if u guys know but the import scene is huge out here. the closest track here is like 2 hours away. alot of it goes down on the streets. i myself wish that there was a track but i really ont want to waste all of that gas driving 200 miles just to take 3 runs on a track.

If you take it to the track, you'll get a slip. Otherwise, it's your word against his... How well do you both know the fronts of your cars?
Anyway, it's a toss up. I think he has shorter gears, and probably similar (or greater) power... And he's lighter. 2.25" exhaust will help, but mainly in the high end. Get used to shifting manually, or you won't see the gain. And the muffler, what kind? it matters. you MIGHT gain some power. Getting a "racing" cat will do nothing, as Honda's cats are about as good as you can get on a street car. Waste of money.
The only way to truly find out is to do the mods and take it to the track. having a track 2 hours away is pretty good. Some people drive MUCH further to get to the track!

Well, my friend has an 2001 civic lx, and although I haven't raced one myself. I know they do the 1/4 in 16.5. The LX Sedan features a 1.7-liter engine with 115 HP. They are a lot lighter though. P-W ratio keep in mind. However, I've beaten 2000 Civics which is around the same, and beat them with little or no problem. I'm not sure why you lost so bad, because you shouldn't have. I'd get that shit tuned better, change the damn oil, new wires, plugs, distributor cap, and whatever else you can think of.

The only tip I have with my auto is leave it in D3 on the track or when racing. First off, it prevents car from engaging 4th and it keeps u safe, whats the point @ racing past 100 again? yah. Ghey.
